Review titled unprofessional i.t system
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Surgery switched appointment to telephone appointment so I explained I had to cancel as it was for a mole check. Rearranged for following week. Got a message saying the appointment had been changed to a telephone appointment again!! So I have to go through the longwinded appointment process again. Very unprofessional.

Review titled Avoid! GP is awful, nurses are the backbone here
Rated 1 star out of 5

The nurses taking blood tests/ecgs are amazing and really care about you and making sure you are comfortable and understand. Unfortunately this is overshadowed by a particular gp and their attitudes. Due to chronic symptoms affecting my quality of life have had multiple appointments and either been ignored/gaslit. Was not referred until 4 months of begging and that was by a different gp. Even then a different department to what my symptoms relate to??? Explained pain and symptoms to gp and asked for solutions/testing to sort out what is wrong, to which they responded "well obviously I can't give you opiates" when I hadn't even asked for pain relief. Said in a condescending tone as if I was drug seeking. I was in tears. This was after asking the reception team etc and on e consults to not have this particular member of staff contact me and them still doing so anyway. Today I needed a fit note as my problems affect my ability to see and walk, and gp responded that "well we won't keep doing these" So after offering no support, testing, help, anything, gp basically tells me to suck it up and suffer. Also been gaining weight despite dieting and exercising for a year with dieticians help and they won't look for underlying causes. Making out like I am lying!? Even though hypothyroidism and cushings run in my family. Such a shame but I will be leaving for a different gp surgery as I cannot take being spoken to like a piece of dirt and ignored. Most of the rest of the surgery is ok/good but particular gp makes you never want to see a doctor again.

Unfortunately you have not contacted the practice to advise of the difficulty you have had with this appointment or with the GP you mention above. It is very difficult to support patients and resolve issues if these are not raised to us in the usual way. If you would like me to review your concerns and the clinical advice you were given along with the treatment received than please contact the practice via our email barnfieldhillsurgery@nhs.net.
