Review titled Can’t get through on phone or online
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Mrs V Martyn - Posted on 26 March 2025
I would like to make a formal complaint about the service I am getting ( or not getting). After seeing an optician for a Subconjunctival haemorrhage I was then sent a message from the surgery to say book an appointment for a follow up and blood pressure check. You have given me an appointment for 3 weeks time! That's not really a follow up or useful to check my blood pressure in 3 weeks when I have the medical issue now. Also no doctor has seen my eye either when I asked for a face to face appointment. Secondly I want to complain about the evergreen app. Why is the online booking system not available when it's says "re opens 7.45am mon-Friday". This is during the afternoon and other times I have tried to use it. You seem to want people to book online in this way rather phone up so why isn't it available?? Also why is the phone line always at least a 45 minute wait when you are caller number 1 or 2? surely you aren't on the phone this long for 1 or 2 people?? It's really hard to try and get an appointment when you work in a school for example and can only either make a phone call or go online to book after the school day. We can't sit waiting for a call to be answered for hours on end. So this is why your online system should be working all the time. You are putting people's lives and health at risk due to a difficult booking system. When you eventually get to see a doctor in person it's fine but you are putting people off trying to get an appointment in the first place.

Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Carla - Posted on 26 March 2025
Today I’ve spent 54 minutes in a telephone queue to be told there are only appointments available for next month. Even walking into the reception you’re welcomed by a rude receptionist standing behind a sign indicating the public to not be rude or abusive. There seems to be no compassion nor care or even an appointment available. I’ve now been told for the second time in two weeks to call 111 or go to A&E because they can’t run their business/practice efficiently. 20 years ago this was a wonderful practice with staff that cared and a system that worked. Not now.

Trying to make an appointment to see an actual doctor is a complete joke. After requesting an actual face to face appointment with a doctor I was offered an appointment with a pharmacist in several weeks time. Not even a phone call....... It seems that caring for actual patients just gets in the way of the surgery. Trying to get through on the phone is a nightmare, so used app as instructed. Seems to me that everything is done to deter patients from bothering....

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been disappointed with the services at our surgery. All online consultations submitted by patients are reviewed by a GP on the same day to ensure that each patient is directed to the most appropriate clinician within a suitable time frame. Our team includes a range of highly skilled healthcare professionals, such as pharmacists, who are experienced in managing a variety of medical concerns. While we understand that some patients prefer to see a GP, the high demand in primary care means we must utilise our full clinical team to provide safe and effective care. By having a GP oversee the triage process, we are confident that patients receive the right support from the right professional. If you would like us to look into your specific circumstances, please do get in touch with us directly. We appreciate your feedback and hope to better meet your expectations in the future.

Review titled Terrible Phone lines
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 February 2025
I used to really rate this surgery, but in the last year the phone lines have been absolutely diabolical. My Husband has recently had health issues which has meant I have had to call the surgery quite a lot. I would say 90% of these calls have resulted in me being on hold for over an hour only for no one to answer, it seems I have only been moving down the queue because people are hanging up. For example I called up today just after 5pm because my husband needs his prescription. I have been on hold all the way up until 6:30 and they have now shut. Previously I have had to go into the surgery where you can see clearly no one is on the phone on the front or back desks. I feel this has been bad since the merg with the other surgeries as before this i never had an issue getting through. The new app says it says you can request appointments but that is a lie, you can only request pre authorsied prescriptions.

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve had difficulty reaching us by phone. Reducing call wait times is one of our key priorities, and we have dedicated teams answering calls throughout the day. Many patients find the call-back function helpful, as it allows you to request a call from a receptionist without needing to stay on hold. If you would like us to investigate any specific issues with your calls, please do get in touch. Additionally, our online consultation system enables patients to submit details of their medical concerns. These are reviewed by a GP on the same day, ensuring that you receive appropriate advice or an appointment as needed. The administrative options within the system are available 24/7, providing flexibility for non-clinical requests. We are committed to providing the best possible care, and we’re sorry that your experience has not met expectations. If you would like to discuss your concerns further, please contact us so we can look into this for you.

Review titled Terrible phone service

I rang today for test results, I was 5 in the queue and got to 1 in the queue after 1 hour and 20 minutes, then a voice message told me they cant take my call and I should ring back later, then just cut me off! I am fuming!! The staff are lovely but the system is terrible. It is not acceptable to keep patients on the telephone for that length of time and then cut them off! I tried ringing back to be told I was number 7 in the queue.

Review titled Treatment Pathway Feedback
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Eric Downing - Posted on 21 October 2024
Having recently been diagnosed with Cancer, I was told by my consultant that I had to have continuous and uninterrupted injections, in conjunction with other treatments. I received my initial injection in August and was told at the time that I could not book my next injection (in three months time) as the system would not accept it. I was told I needed to wait until late September before I would be able to make an appointment. When I called to make the appointment (on the date required for my injection) I was told that there was nothing available!, when I asked what I should do to continue my uninterrupted treatment (as specified by my consultant) I was told again that there was "nothing available" I was unable to get any suggestion of what to do other than "nothing available". After consultant intervention, I am now having to take tablets until I can get the injection. I am feeling the stress of being diagnosed with Cancer only for this to be add to the stress levels. If a patient has a designated treatment plan, with specified timeframes, then surely they should be able to pre-book appointments in line with the consultants directions.

Review titled Failed Ofsted five times for a reason
Rated 1 star out of 5

I telephoned politely asking for a telephone appointment with a Specific Dr who knows me and my complex history. Answer No I asked when would said person be available? Answer No nothing available. I followed sympathetically with I’m not asking for today but when would said person be available? Answer No nothing available. I replied what about in 10 years adding jokingly obviously being pedantic though I’m asking for help needing to understand what I need to do? Answer then told said Dr i have seen for couple of years is suddenly now a Locum and pretty much no longer exists. I asked what I need to do to get an appointment with any dr? Answer told Noooo Nothing to offer I repeated my question yet again feeling Exacerbated that a simple and obvious situation of a patient in need is not understood. By those employed and trained to understand and provide a service with a level of care and sympathy. Bring the bare minimum from a human being was told I need to telephone again tomorrow or intermittently in a few days asking again though under no illusion it it would be for more of the same treatment. I gave up before the experience caused a dangerously induced accelerated high blood pressure. The Exact Opposite a patient in need needs. It’s such a shame as face to face sometimes some of them can be lovely I did nothing to deserve this treatment.

Review titled Terrible

I have been caller number one in their queue for 40 minute, every time I telephone I cannot get through or make an appointment for myself or my son. in total I have been listening to hold music for 1 hour and 5 minutes… used to be a good surgery before they got taken over. As unable to make appointments the last time we needed an appointment I paid for an appointment with the private hospital which we shouldn’t have to do but can never get an appointment.
