Review titled Not Good
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 March 2024
Filled in online information to see GP. Got a message saying that I need a appointment to see a GP. Got a message saying they would send me an appointment. Week on still no message of appointment. The practice has gone downhill since it merged. I'm no longer happy with the service but it's the nearest GP to me. Something really needs to be done about it.

Review titled Horrible place

Don’t bother going here it takes hundreds of years to get back to you and for people that are vulnerable it doesn’t accommodate for example my mums phone numbers is not working but needs to visit the doctors for cervical problems she was told to find someone who has a phone to do the phone application we stated that we did the form but however her phone number is not working so the doctor can’t get a hold of her the receptionist told her there was nothing she could do which is really unfair and discriminative and not equally helping others that don’t have internet access or a phone like I mean how is calling on someone else is phone going to respect her privacy the lack of care for others with the extremely rude receptionist that they hire that are overly aggressive and rude to people when all people want to do is just to check their health paying taxes and still having appointments are like gold dust

Review titled Absolutely awful surgery since modality merger
Rated 1 star out of 5

Can't recommend it at all since the surgery became modality. Impossible to get an appointment even with potentially serious condition. When you do see the GP finally they are incredibly rushed and stressed. Not good for anyone. Modality should be thoroughly ashamed.

Dear Patient I am sorry that when you contacted the surgery you could not be offered an appointment. We are currently experiencing increased demand on our services and only have a limited number of appointments available. Please be assured our clinicians are working to their full capacity and new appointments are available daily. Kind regards Patient Experience Team

Review titled Awful service and impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Darren Palmer - Posted on 22 March 2023
I was asked to book an appointment for a blood pressure check, and told I had only a 2-day window to do so. I know my BP is high, and it's been worse since I caught an illness, so I was glad of the opportunity to talk to someone. I turned up at the allotted time and signed in on the automated system, which told me to take a seat in the waiting area. I waited unseen for 45 minutes, then I had to leave to get back to work. I asked the receptionist why I hadn't been seen, and she looked me up and said, "Oh, it's with Mr Pod. That's the machine by the door. You can do it now, just follow the instructions on the screen." I have my own BP monitor. I don't need an appointment with a machine in a busy reception area. I don't need to waste 45 minutes because I've been wrongly instructed, or to log a BP reading that reflects the stress and anger I was feeling at that point. So the entire thing was a waste of time. Previously I saw a nurse. She was helpful and reassuring, and gave me a 24h monitoring device. I returned it the next day, loaded with data, and never heard from them again. That was poor service, but this was far worse. And of course, you can't see a doctor to (literally) save your life. You're on your own with the Bellingham Green Surgery, and very much more so since the 'Modality' merger. Join up by all means, but only if you plan on never getting ill.

Review titled Disappointing, and Dehumanising service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anthony - Posted on 24 March 2023
I called the surgery today, having received a text message on 02/03 to review my usual prescriptions. I have also had to wait for ages to call the surgery with other complaints as I know from past experience that seeing a GP here is near impossible. On Tuesday 21/03, I called the surgery and waited for 59 mins and then I got cut off. Tried calling back, but was 30 on the queue, so gave up. I called again this morning, and was on the phone waiting for 1hr 49 mins before it was picked up. You are then interviewed to determine if you are ill enough to speak with or even see the GP. after my interview, I was told I could have a phone consultation for only 1 issue only. 20mins later, the staff called back, said the duty Dr would not be calling and that I had to call back on Monday and possibly wait another 2 hrs to be told there are no appointments. I have never felt so distressed and sad in my life. It was like begging to see a doctor, and you have to be dying to see one. The response from the staff was so lacking in empathy and understanding. While I understand the pressures on the NHS, this practice and service has really gone downhill since the Modality Merger. I am really disappointed, and was in tears as I was speaking to the staff this morning. I feel so humiliated having to beg see Dr. Best to look for a practice outside the Modality Group if you are thinking of registering here. May be helpful if the practice actually tells you why you are not likely to see a GP.
