Review titled Excellent doctors and support staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by John Markham - Posted on 22 July 2024
We have been with this surgery for many years. The medical expertise and acumen of the regular doctors, and the unfailingly responsive and helpful service of the receptionists and the support staff, have always been exceptional. The most recent experience related to my daughter's repeat prescriptions (she is Type 1 diabetic), when the staff proactively rang me to help secure the most useful device among several options, but the standard has always been just as high in all our regular interactions with the doctors and staff.

Dear Patient, Thank you for adding this review. The NHS is under immense pressure, and we can not continue to provide safe limitless care at its current levels in General Practice in the way we did prior to the pandemic. As such we, like many practices throughout the NHS we have changed the way we are working. Thus offering Telephone appointments with a clinician in the first instance and if appropriate followed up by the clinician with a face to face appointment. The NHS is working very hard to sign post patients to available services as not everything needs to be addressed by a GP. In the last few months the demand exceeds capacity on a daily basis. Even when we are providing the above average contracted number of appointments. We have to manage this and telephone appointments are enabling us to provide an appropriate, safe and equitable service to our patients. We are not an emergency service and with chest pain we would signpost you to 111 or if appropriate A&E. I am sorry you feel this way, as you can see many patients are happy with our service. If you would like to discuss your individual circumstances further please do not hesitate to contact me. Dawn Dennis - Practice Manager.
