  1. Review titled Down and down

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 August 2023

I've posted a couple of negative reviews on here before. This last experience has left me exasperated. I've been on long term medication for the best part of the last 15 years. In recent years, I 've requested a 1-year batch supply that goes to my local pharmacy. So, with only a 10-day supply remaining, I tried to use the NHS App to order a new 1-year batch. However, the medication wasn't listed on the NHS App. Onto Plan B, I phoned the health centre and the request for a new prescription was taken by someone on reception. I told them I knew I was due a medication review and I would arrange a blood test in due course. Five days later, admittedly including a long weekend, I had no prescription. I phoned the reception, only to be told that a GP had rejected the request as I need a medication review. Did they take any affirmative action to tell me? No! They obviously thought they'd leave it for me to find out when it was all but too late. So, I said OK, can I arrange for a blood test. I was told no, I can't - I have to speak to a doctor and I should phone back the next day. This is despite the fact that on blood test result from last year, there is a directive for me to have another one at the same time this year. So now, I have to phone the practice again tomorrow and explain the situation all over again to another receptionist. And I only have 5 tablets remaining. Here's an idea: If someone phones the practice on (say) Tuesday and needs to speak with a GP, instead of telling them to call again the next day, how about you arrange there and then for a GP to contact them the next day?

  3. Review titled managerial and service difficulties

Rated 1 star out of 5

I have been registered with this practice for over a decade. Quality of service and practice management has declined considerably post-pandemic. Phone line queuing for appointments is excessively long. Almost impossible to get face to face appointments. Phone back system makes more admin and often days of delay. Some health issues consequently get worse until you insist on face-to-face or just go to accident and emergency. I used to have a named doctor, but no longer know who this is after so many doctors left, impossible to develop a consistent relationship if you have ongoing health problems. Not sure to what extent these problems are endemic in the nhs or specific to this surgery? Waiting space is now unwelcoming and depressing: discarded office equipment and broken furniture, check-in machine out of order, receptionists on phones constantly and behind a glass wall.

  4. Review titled Condescending Dr

Rated 1 star out of 5

The Dr is condescending and treats me like I am stupid. I will be changing my GP Practice. Talking to them feels like you need to defend your reason for booking an appointment, as they are mostly dismissive. The Dr's who were attentive were the locums who are there temporarily. Dr's see issues with thyroid results and give no advice. They see high calcium and give no advice. They are just there to prescribe medicine to suppress the problem and not prevent things from getting worse. I think GP's need to be replaced by functional medicine so that the root of health problems is addressed.

  5. Review titled Worst GP Ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2023

First it takes forever for the receptionist to answer the phone, secondly the good doctors at this practice have unfortunately now left. I had an appointment today and my new doctor was completely incompetent and suggested methods that's were entirely not within my budget. She refused to help me with the organisation of a blood test and spoke in a patronising manner. She then followed up with methods that required me to fork out money via a private route.

Rated 1 star out of 5

So many issues with this GP just today was waiting to connect for 20 minutes for someone to answer and hang up straight away. Do people care about their patients in this GP? Doesn't seem like it

  7. Review titled Good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

With all the pressure the NHS is under from lack of funding, this branch does their best. Doctors are compassionate and knowledgeable. Reception is efficient and professional. I have always been able to get a phone appointment within a couple of days. Facility building itself is clean and relatively modern. Thank you to all the staff and solidarity with all striking for a living wage.

  8. Review titled Reception are useless and you can’t get F2F appointments

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Refuse to let you see a doctor face-to-face, even when the doctor has *requested* to see you face-to-face. This means I’ve now had to ring 3 times (each time 45 mins+ in the queue to speak to someone) to organise two phone consultations with a GP, just for the GP to ask me to come in! What a waste of not just my time, but the NHS’s!! The system is not working. Change it.
