    From making the appointment via patches to the greeting from reception and then the consultation with the nurse the experience was so much improved from the last few visits.

    Gp listened and was able to create a reassuring plan for my care, acute medicine needs and referrals. Felt reassured that for once the GP in this surgery actually cared.

    Lovely big waiting room, for some reason, the computerised check in wouldn’t work but reception checked me in. Was called in within a few minutes and the doctor gave me a diagnosis and a plan. Perfect.

    waited an hour after my original appointment time before i was seen and the nurse made me feel very rushed and forgot some of the things i had mentioned, and i had to repeat myself and remind her of the issues i was experiencing several times. Was told at the end of my appointment that she would “get back to me” but was left ensure whether im expecting a phone call or another appointment etc.

    As usual was offered a telephone appt with a clinical pharmacist for my 3 year old daughter. I asked whether this what the difference would be between this and a Gp/ nurses face to face appt; would they be able to diagnose and medicate if required? Receptionist did not know. Receptionist also sounded as if I was wasting her time when I asked if I could have a face to face appt. This is disappointing especially given that I rarely take my daughter to the GP. Finally as usual was automatically given an appt in Calne, despite living approximately 30 minutes away from there and being registered with Sutton Benger. It would be good if a system was introduced whereby some Sutton Benger appts were kept for very young children/those who cannot drive or are too ill to drive. The whole process is an extremely stressful experience every time and puts patients in a hugely difficult position; to drive to a clinic miles away or not be seen. If Sutton Benger is always in such high demand (which it must be given the difficulties of ever obtaining an appt there) surely it would be worth consideration to opening the surgery 5 days a week to ease the demand and ensure local residents can obtain medical care? It's also worth noting that during winter months, the road between Sutton Benger surgery and Beversbrook surgery is frequently flooded, which adds further stress to an already long journey. Whilst I appreciate weather elements are outside of everyone's control, some common sense needs to be applied to the allocation of appointments to the local community in Sutton Benger.

    When I got there, the people in the waiting room had been there for a very long time. The lady next to me had been waiting over an hour already and she didn't go in for another 40 minutes. There were a lot of people that came in for their appointment just to be told they were supposed to be at the other practice even though they were told it was this one. I waited over an hour for my appointment as well. The nurse I saw was very good though! Even though they were clearly very busy, she still took the time to go through everything I asked of her and she explained things well for me. There was only 1 person at the reception desk and she was getting a lot of grief which wasn't really fair because, it's not her fault everything runs behind. Receptionist needs a pay rise or something! You also need more people at the front desk, it's not fair just to have 1 person there.
