Review titled Helpful nurse

Didn't make me feel my problem was a minor concern & took time to check possible causes .She wanted to consult with a GP to confirm her diagnosis & contacted me later to tell me that medication was being prescribed.

Review titled Great practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Janet P - Posted on 21 October 2023
Having used the NHS app to message the surgery, and briefly discussed my issue with the doctors prior to my appointment it worked very well. And no waiting on the phone for ages. It seems a more efficient way to get things sorted out. Thanks you, also the lady on reception at Beversbrook was very nice. More mature and a lovely manor.

Review titled Great doctor
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Eve - Posted on 28 October 2023
I was eventually given a doctors appointment but not before the nurse at Chippenham A&E had to have a go at the receptionist who she spoke to who wanted to give me an appointment in a couple of weeks and not in a couple of days as was needed. I had a bite on my ankle from a holiday in France 9 or so weeks ago. I had already sent photos of this to the surgery some 3/4 weeks earlier requesting an appmnt with a doctor. I didn’t see a doctor and was phoned. After a very short chat the practitioner prescribed some antibiotics. Unfortunately after four days I had to stop taking them as I had terrible heartburn and having had a bleed three years earlier and the fact I was away with relatives at the time thought this was most probably wise, which was confirmed by the doctor I saw yesterday. I did think this bite (a black dot the size of 2/3 my little finger nail and not irritating but slightly red around it would go and much to my annoyance forgot to mention it when I had seen the same doctor 2/3 wks ago about a different problem I had. A week on we went on original advice from the surgery to A&E Chippenham and they dressed it with a granuflex dressing. This was a week ago Thursday and I was asked to return there this Tuesday where a different nurse put on an iodine dressing as it looked to be healing well despite being three times the size and looking raw. She then rang the surgery to put me back under your nursing care. To say she was unimpressed by the reception she received makes me very sad. I as well as my husband have had all sorts of things wrong with us and have had great care.

Review titled Not well managed
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Booked an appointment, 2 of them, they sent me incorrect details about which visit I was there for. I was under the impression I was there for my mental health, but no it was for my migraines which were not as important as my mental health. He would only speak to me regarding my migraines and nothing else. I've always had issues with this place, be it long wait times, cancelation of appointments last minute and some of the doctors I've seen in the past have been dreadful. Very unhappy

Review titled Covid jab system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 11 October 2023
Having received a text message to say I'd qualified for a flu and covid jab I was booked into a 12:50 slot on Saturday. When I arrived rhe man in the car park was lovely and extremely helpful and so began my wait. With only around 6 to 7 people in front of me I didn't think it would be long until I was seen.... how silly.... 45 minutes later I was seen? Why you might ask well it might have been the fact that people from the other queue were being lead into our room for their jabs too, it could have been the lengthy conversations during the consultation (which were clearly heard from where I was standing), maybe there were more people than expected, perhaps the timing was all wrong from the start..... I'm not sure but by the time I was seen I was extremely angry as I felt that it was an hugely excessive amount of time to wait and that it could and should have been avoided. I needed to point this out to the doctor before there was another lengthy discussion which was unnecessarily started because after the essential questions were asked I was in and out in within 2 minutes and even though my jab site wasn't covered and consequently bled onto my clothes, I had successfully proved that it was possible to be quicker. If I had been late for a doctors appointment for 45 minutes I'm sure Beaversbrook would have been equally as angry as I if the roles were reversed. Please can I ask as well that you don't give out a generic message next one too as many of us were not entitled to the flu jab and this caused many people to lengthen their appointments by having large discussions as to why they weren't receiving one and when they would be offered one.

A very positive experience, considerably improved. Got an urgent same day appointment, staff and doctors very polite and helpful. I particularly like the “hold your position in the queue and get a call back” service.

Review titled Terrible service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 03 November 2023
Trying to get an appointment or see a Doctor face to face is incredibly difficult. Very unhelpful booking service. During a recent visit I witnessed several patients complaining about their appointments being incorrect and in one instance an insincere receptionist telling an elderly lady, who had clearly made great effort to attend her 10.30 appointment, that she had been sent a text at 8am to say her appointment had been cancelled and replaced with a phone call later in the day. Only when she became tearful did she receive a vague apology. It requires a lot of effort for some people to attend their appointments and elderly people don’t always look at their phones as frequently. I think this is something the practice really needs to bear in mind. I was given a next appointment date by the Receptionist only to discover by accident the next day, that it didn’t exist on the system. Had I not discovered this I would have turned up for that appointment only to find that I didn’t actually have one. What an absolute mess and a complete waste of everyone’s time and money. Can’t remember the last time I saw an actual Doctor usually ends up being a nurse. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this practice.

Had a face to face appointment with a GP within 48 hours of asking. On arrival at surgery only had to wait 10 minutes before being seen by the GP who resolved my issue quickly and efficiently. I have no complaints a good service.
