Review titled Negative experience
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was experiencing pulsatile tinnitus (a whooshing sound in my ear, that sounded like my heart beating) for some time and came into the surgery to have it checked out, hoping it wasn't a symptom of a wider condition, or caused by flying. The doctor didn't take me that seriously and just recommended olive oil drops, but told me I would probably just have to learn to live with it. The drops did not help, and I continued hearing the whooshing sounds regularly, which was extremely frustrating. Several months later I began experiencing unusual visual symptoms. This time I didn't even bother making an appointment at the surgery, instead booking an appointment with my optician, who checked me thoroughly and sent me straight to the hospital, where they ran tests. Before giving me a diagnosis, the doctor asked me if I had ever experienced whooshing sounds. When I said yes, he immediately told me that pulsatile tinnitus is nearly always indicative of a larger issue, and was related to the diagnosis he gave me. Had the doctor at Bewick Road Surgery taken me seriously and examined me thoroughly, I would have been saved close to a year of discomfort and received my diagnosis that much sooner. Now that I have been diagnosed, the surgery has usually been prompt with issuing my prescriptions, although not always; the female receptionists are polite and helpful.
