I recently had a very positive experience at Billinge Medical Practice. After leaving as a patient due to poor service some time ago, I was encouraged by my neighbours to give it another try, as they said it had improved. I'm so glad I did. The level of service I received was amazing. It's true what they say: the grass isn't always greener elsewhere. Now, I have a doctors just a short walk away, which is very convenient. I’ve seen the same doctor three times recently and he was lovely and asked me to see the nurse. I want to mention the lovely male nurse who looked after me. He was very caring and took plenty of time to explain everything, making me feel comfortable and valued. I’m really pleased to be back at Billinge Medical Practice and would highly recommend it to other thank you for letting me return and I would encourage others to do the same

Made contact with the practice on Thursday. They suggested I phone 8am in the following morning. They answered my call within minutes and an appointment was made same day at 10.30. A sample was tested on site and I was immediately given a course of antibiotics. My general health was also reviewed.

Review titled Reassurance was given when I met my GP

The family unit has undergone some quite complex medical issues over the past couple of years that have required a little more compassion and reassurance. When meeting my GP for the first time, It was great, I felt listened to and reassured. He objected to me travelling a heck of a distance to another hospital but I validated my reasons and showed me empathy. I wasn't judged, or disregarded as some silly middle-aged woman seen or heard enough. I explained the medical issues and he said " I will have to read my medical notes more in-depth next time!" From a patient that suffers from anxiety and depression that gave me so much peace. I am also a mum who has a child with quite a few complex issues, and who struggles sometimes, life is so fast-paced. Recently I rang the surgery and discussed my concerns regarding a family matter and it was acted on immediately. Again, that member of the family was listened to and he has followed every test available to him to help him and overall give coping mechanisms to stay in work. Overall, it was effective team work, I sincerely thank you for doing what I asked. Sometimes it just the little things we need to be mindful of in order to move forward improving our quality of life, Thank you!

I sent an online msg requesting a sick note regarding knee pain, to permit special travel arrangements at work. Doctor called me with 15 mins to discuss, agreed to write the letter but said she didn't believe I should live with chronic pain, so also referred me for xrays, and scheduled a telephone follow up. Less than a month later I have formal diagnosis and treatment plan. Really wonderful service.
