Review titled Terrible practice - no respect for patients

I have a fractured nose and I contacted Bloomsbury surgery on the morning of (June 17) to get a referral to see a nose specialist as I was advised by a&e. I got a text response from a doctor who clearly had not read my request at all as they told me to go to a&e, while I already had, and had mentioned this in my request. I phoned them and they said they were consulting about my case and would get back to me. They got back to me saying to come back if there's swelling, again ignoring my message that was asking about a nose specialist referral. I phone them again and this time was met with a very rude receptionist who told me to re-submit a form, for no reason. She said she'd call back shortly. After 3 hours of not hearing back I phoned again, this time another receptionist (male, much more polite) said he'd check with the gp and get back to me. I get a message from the gp saying they can't refer me to an ent and I need to go back to a&e in order to get a referral. This makes no sense to me as a&E told me my gp should make the referral. I phoned them again, again speaking with the very rude receptionist who told me to submit yet another request. That means I have had to submit 3 different request, have phoned 4 times, and have yet to speak with a doctor or get help for this extremely simple request, which is just a referral to a nose specialist to treat my broken nose! After this, the same receptionist phoned me and said they can get me a referral for the first week of July. She asked if any date works and I would accommodate any date. I asked her if I needed to do anything to schedule the appointment and she said no, they would take care of everything. The next day, I hadn’t gotten a confirmation email so I phoned them again asking when my appointment was scheduled for and I was told that there was no appointment. The receptionist I spoke with basically accused me of lying and making this up and kept saying they could not schedule me an appointment/give me a referral unless I went to a&e again, directly countering the receptionist I’d spoken with the day before. I was absolutely shocked at this interaction. The receptionist of my gp essentially lied to me, saying they would schedule me a referral, then never did and there was no record of it. I assume she’d done this just to get me to stop calling. I was in tears when I was on the phone with them asking how this had happened, as I would never have expected my healthcare provider to lie to me, to my face, about scheduling me a referral appointment to see a specialist for a broken nose. More than anything, I am appalled at the way the Bloomsbury Surgery reception staff treated me. The way they spoke to me, the fact that one of them (I don’t know the name), lied to me about making me an appointment, that the others then tried to convince me it never had happened and I was making it up, and the general lack of any regard or care for my wellbeing is terrifying coming from a healthcare provider.
