Review titled Always an excellent service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Dave Sutton - Posted on 05 January 2024
The reception staff and nurses are absolutely fabulous, and I consider myself lucky to be a patient here, but I would strongly advise against using their touchscreen login terminal as it did not log me in when I used it. I'm no stranger to computers and suspect the terminal itself needs replacing rather than a software fault. I spent 15 minutes longer than needed in the waiting room, but was lucky enough to have a very pleasant chat with another patient

Dear Mr Sutton Thank you for your feedback. I apologise for your experience with our checking-in machine. Unfortunately, we have had numerous problems with this that mainly related to our internet speed and the two software programmes not talking to each other. We are currently looking at alternatives. At the present time, I am please to report that the touchscreen seems to be behaving. Kind regards Emma, Practice Manager

Following an Eye Test, my Husband was issues with an urgent letter to see GP. High Blood Pressure & White Spots behind Eye. Symptoms could trigger Heart attack. The Practice was approached with letter re/urgent appointment. My Husband was informed no appointment were available until Mid Jan 2024. Husband forced to see Private GP. Now taking Statins, Blood pressure Meds . & had Blood works taken. Borough Green practice, uncaring, belligerent attitude. Disgraceful.

Review titled Great service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Rollason - Posted on 07 October 2023
I have visited the surgery for leg dressings for my mother, over the last few months, and the level of service from everyone involved has been absolutely first class. From the reception staff, all the Nurses, and a couple of Doctors, we have received excellent care and attention. I realise that we have become “regulars” and hope that we are not seen as a burden to the practice, but it certainly doesn’t seem that way. This Practice seems to show that everyone involved is very happy in their job, and everyone is greeted with a smile, and made to feel welcome. An absolute pleasure to deal with these people; thank you Borough Green Practice.

Review titled Absolutely first class practice

My experience of this practice over the last 18 months has been consistently superb. The doctors, nurses and office staff, particularly the receptionists, are just superb. You can talk to them, book appointments, see a doctor, get advice. Their communication, efficiency and care is truly first class. The NHS should be looking at what they are doing and replicating it across other GP practices.

On time, professional, communicative, explanatory, considerate, honest, to the point and not, time restricted. This was my experience of an appointment with the Diabetic Nurse. (and previous)

Great team. No messing around but always sympathetic and efficient at managing to find a way to help. Quick, effective call backs and quick appointments when necessary. Our large family of all ages have been looked after very well for many years. Very supportive to visiting elderly family members needing temporary. Good minor ops support and great dispensary service. Thanks !

Review titled Unhelpful
Rated 1 star out of 5

Tried to register on a temporary basis as wanted urgent medical help/advice without bothering a&e. Really wanted to speak to/see a Doctor whilst my symptoms were bad. Extremely difficult to do and was told this wasn’t really something the surgery could do unless I e-mailed first. I did this and received a phone call to say ‘no problem’ call to reception fill in the form and you will at the very least be offered a telephone consultation. I felt so relieved as had been worried. However went to Reception and was told this wasn’t possible, asked a lot of personal information about why I had moved away from the area, how long was I back for? What was wrong with me as a Doctor wouldn’t be able to help if my symptoms had been reported to a different Doctor and were ongoing. Had to speak to at least 3 different people giving the exact same information I had already told. Asked what exactly was wrong with me so it could be judged if it was an emergency. Firstly this was being discussed in an open Reception area. I was in pain and upset and don’t feel it was appropriate I should have at least been taken to one side to see if I could be helped. Told I could be given the form but it was useless really as not something the surgery could help me with. Surely this would be a Doctors decision? I have registered as a temporary patient before and got to see a Doctor seamlessly. What is the problem at Borough Green the website advocates you are able to register as a temporary patient? The way I was spoken to whilst unwell reduced me to tears. I would not recommend this practice to anybody and that’s before you get to see a GP, if you actually do.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for your feedback, all feedback is valuable. From reading your first sentence I believe you have an incorrect view of what GP surgeries are able offer. Since 2020, when the whole world changed and became much more digital, patients have been able to contact their own GPs for online, video and telephone consultations and to order any regular prescriptions. The first point of call for all patients should always be their own registered GP. If, after a consultation with their own registered GP, their GP recommends a face to face consultation then the patient should register as a temporary patient at a convenient GP to their location. To register as a temporary patient you will be asked if you have first consulted with your registered GP practice, you will be asked if it is for regular medications as these should be access via your own registered GP and you will also be asked the nature of the problem. This is so that you can be signposted to the most appropriate clinician which may not always be a doctor. GP surgeries are not emergency care. If the problem is something that cannot wait for the next appointment then you should consider A&E, Urgent Treatment Centres, NHS111 or a local pharmacy. We will take your comments into account when trying to make things clearer and easier for our patients. I will also update our website with the above information regarding temporary patients. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards Emma Practice Manager

Review titled Consistently very good medical practice

I wanted to speak to a doctor about chest concerns. It took a little while to get through but telephone queuing system tells you how many people are before you, which is great. Reception were very clear and helpful and arranged a call with GP within 24 hours which was perfect as non-emergency. The GP called as agreed and was thorough and helpful on the phone. He offered an in-person visit which wasn't strictly necessary but I found it really helpful. Again the visit was unrushed and thorough and everything was well-explained. This has been our family surgery for years and I'm really grateful that they consistently offer very good healthcare and advice, especially now when so many demands are being made on the NHS. Thank you!

Dear Patient Thank you for taking the time to post this feedback. We are a Practice which is very committed to supporting our patients and providing a high level of service. Our new telephone system has definitely brough improvements for patients (and you can choose to be called back through it if there is a queue). Our Doctors take the care of patients really seriously so we are pleased to see you felt that this was the case - particularly as you say in these demanding and challenging times! Thank you again Practice Manager
