Review titled Good doctors

These have been quite good to me. The e-consults are great, you always get a call back the next day. All the doctors have been good apart from one locum doctor. Yeah you might not be able to get through and get an appointment when you ring but all doctors are like this at the minute.

Thank you very much for your kind review Gavin, we are glad that our recent upgrades to the e-consultations are being viewed with positivity as we expected. A very fair and relevant comment due to the demands on the NHS that you ended with as well. Thank you for understanding this. Many Thanks, BHMP

Thank you for your kind review, I shall share this with the practice staff as great feedback the next time we are in a practice meeting. Regarding the telephone systems, we have this in place where it shows "line busy" so that it doesn't allow patients to sit in a que after there are already 5 patients waiting. This is because if we had no limit and it took 15 minutes to get through, it could charge you if you have specific phone contracts so we have limits to avoid this. It is all in the best interests of the patients. Many Thanks once again for your kind review. BHMP.

online consultation do not work. I can't make an appointment for a visit either. they send back to call at 8, but it does nothing because the doctors are not even available to call back anyway. in addition, at the reception they lie that they will send a link to online consultation but they won't do .

Good Morning, We can only apologise for the experience you had with our online consultations back in February. We upgraded our online consultations in April so I hope you have had much more success with the new system as we have had a lot of positive feedback with PATCHS so far.

Review titled Bad practice - disgraceful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 26 January 2023
Absolutely disgraceful. Rang for an appointment for grandchild of 1 year old. Mother had already tried in the morning for 2 days to be told no appointments available. I rang when got to grandchild's house at about 1.45 / 2pm . Informed them what was wrong with grandchild to be told sorry no appointments. I requested for her to be put on duty Dr list .... Sorry no appointments available. Informed her so your telling me you can't put a poorly baby on d/d list, receptionist informed me that the drs have said not to put anymore on list as were over capacitated. I informed receptionist that this is medical emergency and needs a Dr to look at or least speak to mum...... Baby not eating, drinking, not many wet nappies etc etc. ..... I asked to speak to someone higher up to be told no one available. And that parent should ring 111/ a&e. My reply so your expecting a poorly baby to sit for hours up in a hospital full of germs. Yes we have no appointments and drs have requested to take no more patients on the list. . Absolutely disgraceful. I informed the receptionist I work in surgery has a receptionist and I would never decline a baby an appointment or to be put on emergency list. To be told well that's not how are surgery works. My job has a receptionist is to help patients not to take clinical matters into my own hands. If were told it's a medical emergency on the list they go for the Dr to decide. Mother did ring 111 to be told an ambulance is on way as feels needs urgent attention and was at the house within 5 mins also blue lighted to hospital.(This is how urgent my grandchild needed GP attention) This may have been avoided if baby had been put on list in the morning on Monday morning when mother rang up in first place.

Dear Patient, We would like to apologise for the experience that you had with us on this specific day. We are sorry that your grandchild was that unwell that they needed to go to hospital. This is a tricky one as I completely understand your point of view of frustration with a poorly baby not getting seen due to us needing to close our appointments due to being at capacity. However, we have to ensure that our working environment is safe and our GPs will close the books to any more appointments if we are at an unsafe capacity which we were on that date. By mid afternoon/late evening, we will more than likely always be at capacity now which is why we advise all of our patients to contact the surgery in the morning. Regarding the outcome, our receptionists definitely made the correct call due to the actions 111 took. With your grandchild being so poorly, us as a GP surgery, shouldn't have been your first point of call. Any urgent matters should be seeking more advanced care, especially for the young and the elderly. Once again, I can completely understand the frustration from your point of view, but these are measures that we have to put into place to ensure a safe working environment. It also highlights the importance of our staff having the correct training to be able to signpost patients to the correct place like they did in this instance. I would also like to state that I hope your grandchild is doing well since going into hospital as these can be worrying times. Many Thanks, BHMP
