Review titled Fast as lightning
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 November 2023
One morning at about 8.15 in October I filled out an online form requesting a GP appointment and within about 10 minutes I got a phone call booking me in for 10.10am face to face appointment that same morning. This is absolutely outstanding. The GP I saw was also very lovely introducing himself by his first name and putting me at ease straight away.

Review titled A welcoming and friendly place
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was very much encouraged today when my GP went over and above what I expected. Also, in the last 2 weeks I have been treated by three different nurses who also helped me a lot as well as the reception team. Thank you all very much.

Review titled Much improved booking service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've honestly been quite critical of communication with the practice previously due to the frustration of trying to get through for appointments. The new text based system is a million times better and hs made such a difference to getting treatment when my son was unwell recently and when I needed an x-ray. A very tangible difference that has made a very positive experience. Thank you!

Review titled Great Practice - Just What the NHS Should Be
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Richard Notley - Posted on 01 August 2023
The new on-line booking service was a very good experience (once I'd worked out how to do it!). I was contacted on the same day by friendly and helpful Practice Staff to make 2 necessary appointments in good time. Well done. And the clinical staff have always been keen to assist, and they believe in the NHS.

One of the doctors at this practice is an exceptionally caring, warm and experienced GP. They take time to understand who you are and what your worries are and follows up on what they say they will do - a very trusted and highly respected GP practice.

Review titled Shocking systems and appointment service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I am now on week 2 of trying to call to make a doctors appointment, and so far today 88 minutes of waiting to get through to somebody, starting with being 'over 30 people in the queue'. It's impossible when working a full time job to keep taking hours out of my day to wait and try and make the front of the queue. When I finally get to see or speak to a doctor this practice is great and I would recommend the help I have received in the past, but I can't believe getting an appointment is this difficult. Tried to go into the practice in person and they wont let me make an appointment in person, get referred back to the phone line. I understand the strains of the NHS, but none of my family or friends have this much trouble getting through to the receptionist to try and make an appointment, and many are at alternative local surgeries. I'm surprised it is deemed acceptable to not even be able to get through on the phone after hours of trying. A surgery shouldn't take on more patients than the systems can function for. It's such a shame because this practice used to be the best in the area and the staff are always helpful.

Review titled Poor reception staff skills
Rated 1 star out of 5

Terrible experience over time with this surgery. I wonder do the reception staff specifically at the bramhall surgery have much communication experience at all? I was asked how can I help? Then immediately the staff member just answered a call mid me trying to explain without warning. Then passed onto someone else who from the start was hostile and loud than someone else. Incompetent staff who give the wrong information and gate keep access to healthcare. Just a shocking experience.

Review titled Excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

This GP practice has looked after me and my family for several years and I have always been happy with the treatment from the medical staff. I feel that we are listened to and the options for treatment have been explained well. I do not understand the booking system and it is frustrating trying to get an appointment, I think this is a problem elsewhere too. I don't understand what drives the booking system but there is massive potential to improve.

Review titled Shocking appointment management
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Matthew Haley - Posted on 10 January 2023
I know the nhs is under severe pressure but even still the service here is shocking. The system seems crazy, only offer emerelgency appointments which means I have been directed to call at 8am and then 24th in the queue. There are no options for scheduled appointments. That seems crazy, clearly the staff are struggling to manage. I have empathy for them all as they will be trying there best. But what about working people, can the stay for an 1hr on the phone or an elderly person struggling to get an appointment? What about people having to make their condition sound worse so they can get an on day appointment (which seems to be the only option)? The management of the system really needs to be looked at, shocking!!! It's inefficient for everyone involved. People deserve better care!
