Review titled Unreliable
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Stephen Roberts - Posted on 03 May 2024
Once again I am having to give a bad review for this practice . I took the results of my 7 day blood pressure monitoring on the 16th April after being told by the doctor who requested it that he would ring me as soon as he received it . I am still waiting and was told today that the doctor in question only works on Monday and Friday . I was also told that the results could go to any doctor . I was told by the doctor who requested the monitoring to put it for his attention . What I can't work out is why the CQC can say this practice is good when clearly it is not and hasn't been for a number of years now . I am still in limbo over my blood pressure and don't know when i will get it sorted , perhaps it will get sorted when something serious happens to me in which case it could be too late then .

Don't even try to get an appointment you will be on the phones hours literally before being told sorry no appointments available! Oh but we can fit you in in a couple of weeks but you will need to ring up on the morning! Good luck with that. There's only 1 decent gp there and he's not even permanent he could be gone again in few months. As soon as he leaves I will be moving GP Surgeries as its a joke! Misdiagnosis for a lot of people.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience with our practice. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience or dissatisfaction you may have encountered. Firstly, we acknowledge the challenges we faced in managing appointments over the past couple of weeks, and we are pleased to inform you that these short-term issues have been addressed. We have now implemented pre-bookable appointments in our system until the end of April to enable a smoother scheduling process. We have been providing the option for patients to request a call back which means that they do not need to wait on the phone and we will call them back without them losing their place in the queue. I would recommend you use this service. Regarding your concerns about the quality of service and alleged misdiagnoses, we take such feedback seriously. However, it's essential to note that making generalised statements without providing specific instances or evidence can be misleading and potentially harmful. We encourage you to provide detailed information about your experience or specific cases so that we can thoroughly investigate and address any issues. We strive to maintain the highest standards of care for all of our patients, and your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services. If you are willing to discuss your concerns further, I encourage you to contact Beth Wilson, Operations Manager on-site or alternatively you can contact our department via email at complaints@branstonsurgery.com, and I assure you that your concerns will be investigated. Once again, we apologise for any inconvenience you may have experienced and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns. Sincerely Sally White Patient Relations Manager

Review titled Not good enough
Rated 1 star out of 5

Still waiting for blood pressure results since early March despite calling in at the surgery twice . I was told on both occasions that the doctor concerned would be notified. On one occasion I was told the doctor only worked on a Monday. This is not acceptable as I am in limbo as to wether I need my medication changing or not. This surgery is run by incompetent people and very understaffed for the number of patients on their books, yet if you go in the surgery at any time you will be lucky if you see more than 2 or 3 people waiting and they are probably waiting to see a nurse. Someone recently reviewed that this place should be shut down and turned into a post office which would definitely be more use than this place.

Review titled Can’t get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5

My husband needed an urgent appointment following his operation being cancelled due to very high blood pressure. The hospital told him to make an urgent appointment with his gp. On the day of this- the 1st November he was told by the receptionist to ring the following day on the 2nd. He rang promptly at 8.00 am. However even though he was third in the calls, they would not offer him an appointment as they said they were fully booked. They told him to go to the urgent treatment centre. This is absolutely disgusting. I have already moved to a neighbouring GP at Washingborough and am urging my husband to do the same. Haven’t they heard of the locum service? When you can’t even get an on the day appointment with your gp when you’ve rung as instructed is appalling but unfortunately reflects this practice.

Review titled Poor service

I tried to order my tablets on line but saw that two of them needed a review. I phoned and was given an appointment for a phone call two days later for a review. I was also told if I didn’t get the call to check later that day if my prescription’s had been updated. I checked at five and nothing had changed. I phoned the surgery and was told no appointment was showing but my medication had been sorted but not updated on the system and that a request for the medication I needed soon would be passed on to a Doctor. Three days and still not sorted and it’s Saturday tomorrow. I worry that the medication I should not miss will not be available then what will happen.

Review titled Absolutely Rubbish Care, either by phone or in person

I had to go to the pharmacy today with a injury to my leg, im 85 years old, the pharmacist said I need antibiotics and to go to my gp to get the nurse or doctor to take a look or to get them to send him an email so he could organise the medication. I drove to the Doctors, the surgery was completely empty and the receptionist told me they had no one in that could prescribe or authorise my antibiotics, this was mid morning. They said I was to ring 111 or to take a trip up to A&E, my husband is very poorly and I'm not able to be away from home for any length of time, especially A&E because of catching a infection. The doctor did ring back eventually and asked me which pharmacy I would like to pick it up from, I said the co op at Bracebridge Heath Lincoln, got there and they've sent them somewhere else. They have no care of duty to elderly people, they never asked to see my leg, I feel really disappointed with this surgery and its not the first time either

Review titled Fantastic, caring and listening

Hello I wanted to email to say how fantastic our GP has been for me and my family. I have a terminal tumour and my daughter has cerebral palsy. The GP has been outstanding with giving us time and input to manage this really difficult illness. She has been fantastic at listening and being clear about difficult issues to consider. I really believe she has been one of the most caring and supportive medical professional I have known.
