Review titled Access to medication- felt let down
by Mary - Posted on 30 August 2024
I have ordered my repeat prescription and went to collect it today. After waiting 5 minutes for the reception staff to stop discussing personal matters. I was told that I could not collect my repeat prescription as the dispensary was closed. The system they used to have in place was much better. As long as the surgery was open so was the dispensary. I did not know it had an earlier closing time on a Friday now. I now have to suffer without my anxiety and depression medication till Monday. The side effects of not taking my medication stops my life as I am unable to drive due to bad vertigo. I also have extreme heart burn and I’m suffering terribly currently. Not having this medication leads to waking up in the night choking on acid vomit. To top it all off, the reception lady that spoke to me had a hard tone, very blunt and made me feel stupid for not knowing when they close for the dispensary. Not good when I’ve come to a place where you are meant to be looked after.

Review titled Great service, friendly and understanding
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Leonard Breeze - Posted on 21 March 2024
I needed to establish if my hearing aid was failing or if I had an ear problem, being already almost completely deaf in one ear due to mastoid, there were no appointments available but the receptionist on duty was exceptional and understanding she managed to get me an appointment in 2days rather than 2weeks as she realised I was in serious trouble, thank you.

Review titled Excellent service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Peter Townsend - Posted on 14 October 2023
I rang the practice early in the morning with suspected shingles. I was offered an appointment later that morning. The doctor gave me a thorough examination, explained my condition and the things I needed to look out for and necessary actions. They discussed and agreed the treatment, with the medication being provided rapidly from the dispensary. The following morning I had developed one of the danger signals I had been told of and was once again given a rapid appointment. I was seen by a different doctor, who also gave me a thorough examination and good explanation also. They contacted the ENT department at Scunthorpe General Hospital and tried to arrange an urgent appointment, advocating on my behalf. As an appointment was not available on the day they asked that I attend A&E and provided me with a letter containing a comprehensive history of the treatment to date and other relevant information. The A&E doctor read through the summary and commentated that they did not need to examine me because of the thorough and comprehensive action from the doctors at the practice and rang the ENT department to come and review me. I don't think there is any way the practice could have provided a better service. A very big thank you to all involved.
