    Did e booking asked for appointment with practice nurse had phone call to say had appointment went for appointment and booked in only to see it was with dr went to reception to see why it was with dr and was told practice nurse couldn’t deal with my problem In fact I knew she could. I said I required to see a female dr was told I would need to ring the following day I refused as want my fault they had made a mistake and not informed me of the change eventually told I would be seen by female doctor that afternoon only to turn up to see that I was to see the practice nurse. I have never come across such a bunch of incompetent receptionist in my life. Practise nurse was as always lovely. For goodness sake pull your socks up and do your jobs properly it’s what your paid to do

    Attended yesterday for blood test. The Nurse I saw was very polite and curious. She had time to listen while I explained what had been happening with my kidney dialysis. What I was annoyed at was the length of time I had to wait to book the appointment when I had just spoken to a Dr and was told by him to ring the surgery to book the appointment.

Unfortunately, our phlebotomy clinics do get full very quickly, however, we also offer blood test appointments at our extended access service on an evening and weekend.     Had an appointment today for a leg scan/doppla. Arrived 15 minutes early but no signs to point the way for this procedure. Went to reception desk where there was a long queue and only one lady at desk. This lady was working really hard sorting out each persons problems and was very understanding. I waited in the queue for over 20 minutes to ask advice on where to go. She said to go upstairs. Found a lift but no stairs, once on 1st floor still no signs for scans/doppla. I sat where I hoped was the correct waiting room. A nurse came out and asked me my name and then said I was so late I had I missed my appointment and would have to reschedule. I explained what had gone on and that there was a lack of signs. She said it says wounds upstairs, but I didn't have a wound was attending for a scan. She was really lovely and understanding but still had to reschedule appointment. I think more clear signage would help both staff and patients as I wonder how many more people are down as 'missing appointments' as they don't know where to go.

    Good experience to give blood for yearly review. Made to feel comfortable and very friendly. Whilst waiting for appointment in waiting room a patient came to reception with a dog ( not an assistance dog) to hand something in. I don’t think a doctors is an appropriate environment for animals. Should have been asked to leave but it’s possible reception didn’t see dog.

    I called the surgery this morning and spoke to a lovely lady who returned my call after requesting a callback. The same day appointment was agreed and I saw a doctor who was a joy to see. She was cheerful, polite, understanding and very professional. She offered me some medication and I got the prescription from a local pharmacy within the hour, very happy patient!

    Having suffered from pleurisy/ long covid since 03/23 eventually 10/23 after going private, GP confirmed long covid & being referred to long covid clinic. After waiting this long have now been told referral wasn’t even done! Waste of 4 months where I could have been receiving help to try to get back to my job which I am now expecting to lose being on sick leave now for 12 months. I feel that apart from the initial sending me to a&e in March 2023 I have just been fobbed off. Tests now only being carried out after private consultations and recommendations that could have been offered months ago

    I went in with a typed up list. It takes me all my mental time to book to go in, on the first place so I type up what's wrong or I need help with. I've learned now that it one appt and one issue. Which is fair enough isn't it. At least you can get seen here. The bvmg is a well run well organised patient centred practice. The reception staff are courteous respectful and helpful. And they are very busy. To get an appt to see the doctor you have to ring in at 0800 hrs in the mornings and you can press the no 1 on prompting. Listen to the options two one and the call is ended and the computer calls you back as if you been in the queue all the time. So it is easy enough. You have to be patient and understand how busy the Practice is. Tell the receptionist a bit about what your health problem is. To give the practice the chance to get started in thinking about your treatment. Once you done that you get your day and time. Make a note, type it into your calendar. And attend for the appt you've been given. My experience with the Dr who's in his final stages of becoming a fully fledged GP. These people are GOs with 10yrs of passed exams, now learning how a practice works whilst under the guidance of a senior GP. Mine was clever quick to help and explain things. He's booked my into get my ears done and given me the best spray. I am hopeless at drops. What can I say he dealt with me well I'm a pain as I don't sit still and I can't shut up. I get intrusive thoughts and speak out loud about anything unusual to me. The Dr ignored all of that and managed me well. What can I say? 10 out of 10 feels cheap. There are places one can't get to see a Dr in weeks in other parts of the country. Not here. They see you quickly and sort out a treatment plan for you. So this is a practice firing on all cylinders and up to their onerous task of looking after what is a tough part of the city to work in. I'm not qualified to judge the GP. Or the practice what do I know? All I can do is say they do very well for all of us here.
