I have been calling to book a routine appointment on all days of the week but cannot call on Tuesday and I get the same useless message to call on one day of the week I cannot call! Why are appointments only available and limited to one day of the week? This is depriving the community, and it is not in line with government issue guidance Patients should be able to contact their general practice more easily and quickly - and find out exactly how their request will be handled on the day they call .

My experience relates to communicating with the surgery. I want to send some information to the surgery via their website. It’s just a completed form that can be done/sent online. I can’t as the surgery system does not allow this after 6.30pm because it’s outside of surgery opening time. This is a ridiculous system that doesn’t allow a patient to communicate online after 6.30pm. I am not looking for an immediate response and the surgery can deal with my request in surgery hours but why not allow more flexible means of communication.

They send texts for appointments randomly, if you don’t get the text - they book you for it anyway and they make no contact and then moan you didn’t turn up to an appointment. Riddle me that! If you are going to send a text let it say accept or decline and you have X amount of time or call us. Long story short I’ve waited months and months for another appointment, knowing that I have to have a nurse trained in a certain area and they just give me a nurse that can’t do it. (Nurse is so lovely btw! She is probably fed up of seeing me knowing what I need!) Waste of time for everyone. No one has read the notes and I asked if they could hear me out as I wanted to talk to someone about this and the receptionist that clearly hates her job as she is so miserable told me to write my complaints on here, so here I am! :) I am now having to try and organise paying for this privately which I shouldn’t be doing it it’s just such hard work having to call and talk to people that don’t want to help.

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. All appointments are booked appropriately and as requested. If a member of staff cannot gain contact via telephone, they can book an appointment on your behalf. A text message will always be sent to confirm the appointment details with an option to respond if it is suitable or needs to be rearranged. A text reminder is sent to patients before all appointments. Due to the original appointment not being attended and due to the urgency of the matter, we managed to accommodate you for the following day. 5 days ago I visited the surgery and advised symptoms of having a stroke, the receptionist told me they would put me on the triage list . Dr ——- phoned me within 2 minutes and insisted I phoned for an ambulance, he also told me the surgery would phone back in 5 minutes to make sure I had phoned which they did . I should have phoned for the ambulance in the beginning but I was not thinking straight being very confused. Thank you all at the surgery.

You can only ask for help between 6am and 9am that highly unlikely to work for many people including myself. I called yesterday in a severe metal health crisis. Was told to try tomorrow during the ridiculously small early window. I went on last night and today to have a severe breakdown. I'm only just starting to think clearly again now at 7pm the following day. I've tried to direct this feedback directly to the surgury via their website but it seems you can't even do that outside of their opening hours

Dear patient, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. There are multiple ways you can contact the surgery to request help or access our services. Our e-consults are currently available between 6.30-9am, telephones are open from 8am, you can submit an online form via the website or attend the surgery during opening hours. Please accept our apologies for being told to contact us the following day whilst in a mental health crisis. You should have been asked a series of questions by our reception team and navigated to the relevant service. I will pass this feedback onto the Reception Manager who will liaise with the team about further training. We recently had feedback regarding our website and patients not being able to locate the online forms easily. We have now created a link directly to the forms on our front page. Any feedback can be given via the 'Give Feedback' form which will come directly to myself for review. Like many other services, we are only accessible during opening hours. I had a blood test scheduled two weeks ago to check if everything was ok but unfortunately it wasn't done because the nurse said I had to make an appointment with the doctor to find out what type of blood test would be best for me. I went back to I came back with nothing done and I made an appointment with the doctor as requested. The appointment was today and when I got there I was surprised that the receptionist made an appointment with the nurse again instead of making an appointment with the doctor. In other words, I made an appointment with the doctor. I got there and went back again. With this whole situation I gave up on making an appointment. Lack of professionalism and lack of responsibility on the part of the receptionists. Horrible service I'm very disappointed.

Good afternoon Monica Thank you for your feedback. Please accept our apologies for the poor service you have experienced with the practice. Upon investigation I can see where the errors had occurred. At present, we have a handful of new receptionists who are still following a training plan. I fully understand this does not excuse the time you have had wasted. Good afternoon Donna, Thank you for providing us with your feedback. Please accept our apologies for the issues you have experienced. If you require a routine appointment with a doctor, please contact us on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning as this is when our next routine appointments are released. These are usually in 4 weeks' time. If you require to be seen more urgently, we will require you to submit an e-consult between 6.30-9am - please note these are switched off earlier if we are full to capacity. Alternatively, you can call the surgery at 8am to be added to the triage. If you contact us and we are full for same-day GP appointments, we will happily triage you and provide an alternative service, if you meet the criteria. I will pass this feedback onto the reception manager who will speak with the team to ensure they are informing you of the correct information.
