Review titled GP missed allergic reaction
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 September 2023
GP told me I had viral tonsillitis and should get painkillers from a pharmacy. Pharmacist instantly recognised I'd actually had an allergic reaction. Fortunately, it wasn't a serious reaction but it's a bit concerning that a GP can't tell the difference!

Review titled Impossible to see a doctor

Completed the online form after trying for week to get an appointment by calling at 8am and not being able to get through. Had a reply by email saying I would hear from someone by a certain date and time which has now passed... A relative who also couldn't get through tried the online form and got an email saying call at 8am. So what's the point of the online form? And why can't they just accept bookings for routine appointments in advance to reduce the pressure on the phone line at 8am every morning.

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Are there muggle repelling charms at work? Seriously, it doesn't matter how many times you call at 8am, you will never get an appointment. A&E complain when you take moderately sick children there, but where are you supposed to take them? Pharmacists can only help so much and always refer you back to GP if you have an ill baby. Also, it's extremely unfair that you can't book advanced appointments at this surgery. You can enter the 8am "will my call get picked up?" lottery every day for a fortnight (and then go to A&E), someone else gets lucky and gets through on day 2 of calling when you've been ill much longer. If it was possible to get advanced appointments, it would create more of a first come, first served system (and I understand the system should be about who is most ill but it isn't, it's currently about the luck of whether your call gets picked up or dropped at 08:00. If it gets dropped and you have to call have at 08:02, you've lost your chance. I do understand that the NHS is overstretched but Practice policies are not working to anyone's advantage in this case.

I have seen most Dr in this surgery and they’re very friendly, professional, good listener. They will tried their best to support you with any worries and if they’re unable they refer you to appropriate dept within the NHS. I will surely recommended this surgery to anyone.
