  1. Review titled Disgrace to the nhs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Disgusted - Posted on 05 February 2024

Just been on hold for 15 mins trying to arrange my booster jab finally put in a queue of 6 eventually after 12 mins phone started to ring and ring and ring and ring after 8 mins of ringing I put down the phone either the staff are profoundly deaf or completely ignorant the practice is a disgrace and embarrassment to the nhs it needs a root and branch overhaul and a team that actually want to help goodness knows how much money has been spent why have phones or staff that will not answer a phone a full independent review of this so called medical centre is needed

We apologise if you feel the service we provide in this area is below your standards. We have installed an new telephone system in keeping with requests from all patients. This entails a patient queuing system and a call back service. We received 100's of telephone calls every morning and we provide a full bank of care navigators to answer those calls. However demand can sometimes outweigh the resource. As patients can now access many ways to contact the surgery hopefully the telephone demand will reduce in time.

  2. Review titled Vaccinations

Rated 1 star out of 5

This was once a great surgery. My wife and I are to travel to the Far East on holiday, we’ve been messed about by the surgery that have stated they do not carry out holiday vaccinations anymore. We have had to pay £20 to a chemist for consultation as to what vaccines we require. They have told us we require 1 injection which we are eligible to have on the NHS. So we once again returned to this surgery that have repeatedly informed us they no longer have the staff to carry out this NHS service, this looks like we will now have to pay £37 each for the single injection. My neighbour has had numerous holiday vaccines from the the Stag surgery all free of charge on the NHS??? The receptionists have not advised us on where we can go to have this vaccine, just the fact that the surgery no longer carry out this service due to staff issues. I wonder if the new extension to the surgery has resulted in losing staff to pay for it? I have found the service from the surgery has depleted considerably over the years. The only way to get the correct service from the NHS is to move surgery!

We apologise if you feel our service is lacking in this area. Over the past year, been in the middle of a large capital build and merged another practice into our site. During this time we have been lacking on space and facilities to offer our normal services. For this we apologise. Hopefully things will now start to get back on track as we have moved back into the new premises.

  3. Review titled Appointments

How is it that if you can only book an appointment by phone on the day, when I start ringing on a Monday morning at 7.59 and get through at 8.0 am I receive a message saying all appointments for that day are taken.

We apologise if you feel our service is lacking in this area. Other patients brought this to our attention and we did find it was a fault in the new system. This has now been addressed. We apologise for this error. Hopefully you will not be able to speak to reception

Each time I visit the practice with my children when they are unwell the doctors always go above and beyond! They show care and empathy towards my children and reassure myself ! I know that my children and their wellbeing is in great hands . I can’t thank the doctors enough for all they do!

Thank you for your comments. We try hard to provide a good service where all the elements fit together to give our patients the quality of care we would all expect. It’s great to hear from you that you find it all works well for you. Your comments are appreciated, will be fed back to the whole team working here and certainly gives us all a lift.

  8. Review titled Embarrassment to the nhs

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 August 2023

Attended walk in centre Friday prescribed a tablet asked to ring the practice this morning to confirm the prescription was sent to my local chemist. As usual on hold 15 mins then held in a que got through to a ringing phone the phone rang for 8 mins no one answered eventually I put the phone down. This practice is not a patch on what it used to be it’s a total shambles why have you made the place bigger when no one can be bothered to answer a phone the building should be demolished and build a car park that would be more use to the community

  9. Review titled Disappointing visit

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 August 2023

It pains me to write this review as I have been a patient just about all my life and always praised all the staff who are working hard during a difficult time, but my appointment last week with one particular GP made me feel like he couldn’t be bothered he never made eye contact took my BP said it’s high tore off a prescription signed it never told me what it was for or what it was said make an appointment for a ECG said I could go to work even though I told him I had been experiencing dizziness and light headed period but never bothered to ask me what I did for my job. Gave me a month supply of meds never said what to do after that .( do I just stop the tablets ). I am very happy with the practice but I was so disappointed on this occasion. I would like to add all the other staff were polite and friendly.

We are sorry that you have experienced this issue, and as a Practice, we are very keen to address this, but are unable to do so if we do not know who was involved. If this person would like to contact the surgery in confidence, please ask for the Practice Manager and she will do everything she can to help you.
