Review titled Disrespectful & Unhelpful Receptionist
by Christopher Taylor - Posted on 15 October 2024
I called yesterday to schedule a follow-up appointment and was told to call back this morning to request a same-day appointment. The receptionist hung up on me three times after raising their voice at me this morning. OK, it seems there were parts of the calls they couldn't hear me but they didn't say this until right before hanging up the third time. So, I was giving them the information requested in the time that they could've repeated the question or simply ask, 'Are you still there?' Their behaviour was as if I was intentionally having the call go in and out. How is it acceptable to have such rude reception staff where vulnerable people with medical and mental health issues get demoralized on a day-to-day basis?

Review titled Poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2024
Very poor service, from the receptionist to the practice manager who refuse to speak with patients. Let’s not even start with the infection control procedure. Nurse cleaning and touching area for venepuncture with bare hands, not even a hand wash or alcohol sanitizer, not using correct order of vials according to nhs, cqc, international guidelines. I got my blood samples taken today and they won’t be accurate due to co-contamination. Overall my experience in this GP practice has been nothing but just disappointing.

Review titled Horrible rude reception staff
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Patient - Posted on 26 July 2024
It feels like I am intruding on the reception staff as they do not stand up and make eye contact and the COVID screen makes it very difficult to communicate as I have to bend down or go to a small gap to hear what is being said I feel this is demeaning for me as I have hearing issues but if the staff at least said good morning and tried to the practice may be a more welcoming place as most patients go as they are worried and not for a day out but reception staff seem to have the impression that they are medically qualified and are uninterested in the patient experience and should not be on their mobile phone and have proper interaction with the patient and not make me feel that i am an encumbrance to their day overall a horrible experience and it needs to be sorted ASAP

The surgery has contact me to arrange a health review and yet three attempts today to book an appointment have failed. Three times there has been no response to my phone call - the last time I was waiting 50 minutes before being cut off.

Require you to use an app to make an appointment, but the app never has any appointments available. Have had health issues I've been trying to get medical attention for a chronic issue with my foot for 3 months and have not once been able to access a GP, avoid this practice if at all possible

Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry to hear about your negative experiences. Unfortunately, I’m unable to identify you to reach out directly. Please note that the practice makes every effort to meet the needs of all patients, currently you can request appointments in three ways: 1. Our trained receptionist will ask a few questions to ensure the GP provides the best possible care. 3. In Person: Visit the practice to book an appointment. Our trained receptionists will again ask a few questions to ensure you receive the right care. Review titled Terrible admin section
Rated 1 star out of 5
by David Haynes - Posted on 05 June 2023
I went in on 31/5 to book my annual diabetic review. I had been contacted to do this. The lady at the desk, who asks everything twice, gave me a card with 5/6/23 at 15:00 as the time. I arrived on 5/6 at 14:50. Usual book in and I was told to sit down. Then I was called back to the desk and asked who had made this appointment for me. I showed them the card. Much whispering and then I was told to sit down again. By 16:10 I had not been called so I went to the desk to enquire as to what was going on. Turns out my appointment had not been made and I was put on in the hope that the nurse would be able to see me. Now 16:15 so unlikely. Nobody decided it was good customer service to tell me this at the time and allow me into the decision process. Having had issues with the admin team over many years, I now never book appointments unless they contact me.

Review titled Worse GP ever
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 May 2023
Worse GP I’ve ever been to. Phones are never answered, GP always “fully booked” and dismissive front desk. Extremely hard to book appointments. Made several calls at 9am but never get answered. Came to the practice at 9:45 and was told GPs are fully booked. Cannot get any appointments on the other days.

Review titled Clinician
Rated 3 stars out of 5

The clinician was unprofessional, rude and came across very irratated with my 5 year old son for playing with his toy car. She wasn't letting me finish my sentence and kept huffing and rolling her both eyes. She seemed angry with me for requesting a blood test for my son. If she is having a bad day related with personal issues she needs to stay home and not take her frustration out on her patient or their family members. I also went for some reassurance and to gather some more information regarding this virus however it seemed the clinician had no knowledge but what I got from her was she has no patience and she works with patients

Review titled Unprofessional reception staff; good doctors
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Reception staff can be terribly unprofessional. I just had one of them literally hang up on me after waiting 30 min in the queue. Unacceptable. Doctors, on the other hand, are diligent.

Review titled Example of how a GP surgery should not be
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Long suffering patient - Posted on 18 April 2023
Reception staff ignore you when you're standing at the reception desk. Don't forget to ask for a receipt if you leave a letter with the staff at reception its likely to get lost and they will have no record of it. They do not send auto/ receipt of emails. If they think they may get in trouble for something they've done to you, they definitely won't reply to your email. They stopped my medication without authorisation from my consultant at Peckwater. When I told him about what they'd done that same day they text me to collect my prescription from the surgery. They harrass you constantly to have blood tests to tick the boxes. Yet when I had a fall and wanted to get checked out I wasn't allowed to see a Doctor, I agreed to an appointment next day with a nurse. But next day I was sent email to cancel the appt. They are not fit for purpose ie patient care.
