  1. Review titled Gem of a practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Grateful Mum - Posted on 05 April 2024

My son, who has complex medical, mental and social issues has received fantastic care from this practice. Despite not being the easiest patient, he has received treatment that is way beyond anything experienced from other surgeries. Without exception, the staff (nurses, doctors and admin) have been brilliant and clearly genuinely care for their patients. He has received regular care for vascular ulcer dressings from the nurses. Not the most pleasant task, but always carried out cheerfully and done well. Maybe it's because they are relatively small, but their approach works. Sadly my son is now no longer in their catchment area and has had to register elsewhere....but if you're fortunate enough to register with this team, cherish them! Massive thanks to all at Burley Park for your care.

Dear patient, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We're truly grateful for your kind words and are delighted to hear that your son received fantastic care from our practice. It's wonderful to know that despite the challenges, our staff, including nurses, doctors, and administrative team, went above and beyond to ensure your son's well-being. We understand that receiving regular care for vascular ulcer dressings may not be the most pleasant experience, but we're thrilled to hear that our team approached it cheerfully and effectively. I will be sure to share your review with the whole team. We wish him all the best with his new healthcare providers and once again, thank you for your kind words. Kind regards, Rebecca Davison Practice Manager

I attended the surgery today for a 13.00 appointment , which was delivered exactly on time by a kind, compassionate, good humoured GP who prescribed me antibiotics, with the script going to the pharmacy , I had them in my hands at 13.12 (including being offered a BP check !!) Primary care at it's finest. Thank you

  3. Review titled Friendly, accommodating and efficient staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The staff members at the practice including reception, GPs and physiotherapist provide a great experience at Burley Park Medical Centre. The reception staff are welcoming and informative both in the practice and over the phone. The physio appointment was easy to book and the therapist's advice was helpful and accessible. The GP's present to be trauma-informed, rigorous and efficient - I have felt validated and respected during appointments. By far the best experience I have had with a GP Surgery in the short time I have been registered. Thankyou

  4. Review titled Fantastic practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I can't rate this doctor's practice enough. They have such a great team working there. The receptionists, nurses, g.p's and nurse practitioners. I've had to move so now I'm with another g.p practice but I miss the whole team here. I wish I could bring them with me. They've been so helpful and supportive. Very caring and friendly. You're lucky to be registered at this practice. They are a great asset to the NHS.

  6. Review titled God tier surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by R Venus - Posted on 04 April 2023

Ive been in many surgeries around the country but none hold up compared to this one. I've relied on them for a wide range of medical needs and they're yet to let me down. The nurses are fab, very friendly and relaxing when having tests and treatments. The reception staff are fantastic, feels like they bend over backwards at the lengths they've gone for me, helping with complex appointments and sorting letters and liaising with clinics across the country for me and they keep great communication, absolute legends. The doctors I've seen are knowledgable and on it while keeping that personal touch. I literally cannot slate anyone. The practise has helped me with medical reports, been adaptive with prescriptions when theres been shortages or problems with them, helped me prepare for surgery and worked in conjunction with at least 3 other clinics in the country I'm in the care of. I genuinely believe they actually care and want to help in anyway they can and I never want to leave the area as I don't wanna have to give this practise up!

  7. Review titled Oversubscribed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 January 2023

The practitioners are mostly fine, and the nurse practitioners excellent, but the appointment booking system (via Patient Access) is awfully implemented, and patients have about a 1-minute window each day to have a (slim) chance of getting an appointment. The practice is heavily oversubscribed, with insufficient resources to serve its number of patients. I realise that's a nationwide problem, due to gross under-funding of the NHS, but if I could find a nearby practice where it was easier to get an appointment, I'd be there. If you are stuck with using Patient Access, my tip is to be signed in early and have a *very* brief description of the problem already typed and copied, ready to paste in, as the booking system allows someone else to book the same timeslot while you're filling in details. The system doesn't tell you how long your description is, but gives an error message if it's too long. If you can find a practice not using Patient Access for its bookings, I'd recommend it, instead.

Dear Patient Thank you raising your concerns regarding your ability to use our online booking service. We review our appointment and booking systems every month at both our clinical and management meetings, so please be assured your comments will be carefully considered. I am so sorry you've had such a negative experience of trying to book an appointment and we will do all we can to try and improve the service. Patient Access is a national booking service and its operation is outside of our control; however, we can always look at improvements such as altering the times and frequency that we release appointments. The main factor, as you point out, is that with online booking everyone can access the available appointments at the same time. It is not that there are not enough appointments available but rather that everyone logs in at the same time, giving the impression of fewer appointments. The benefit of this is that patients spend less time on the telephone in a queue, but I do of course appreciate there are frustrations with both systems. If you have not already tried done so, you could try using the NHS App. Patients report that it is a much easier system to use. Thank you for your comment regarding the nurse practitioners - this is very kind and I will pass it on. Kind regards Jane Heuston Practice Manager

  8. Review titled Grace under pressure

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Simon King - Posted on 06 February 2024

Until last year I hadn't needed to use the GP regularly. I was really unwell and was seen by the ANP who was so kind, thorough, helpful and supportive. She was brilliant throughout the episode and made time to speak or review me several times as things took a while to get sorted. An excellent service from her and the whole team, which continues from all the clinical staff, GPs and reception team. Many thanks.
