    As always, the care and service received from Carn to Coast has been exemplary, in what must be very stressful times for the staff. Today I had to phone Carn to Coast with medication requests and problems involved with moving address. Everyone took the time to understand my queries and to deal with them in a knowledgeable and effectual way, whilst always being caring and friendly. What could have been a problematic situation was instead dealt with in a smooth and effective way and without fuss. Thank you to all staff at Carn to Coast. You are doing a fantastic job.

    I was treated with respect and listened to . Things were explained to me so that I was aware of the next steps in my treatment . Can’t recommend the doctors highly enough .

  4. Review titled Acute pain was So helpful

    I was still in pain after various pills didn't help and was advised by acute pain team to go to Treliske and ask for MRI - now after 6 weeks cause of pain found - 2 cracked pelvic bones, so all now on the road to recovery. Thank you.

    This morning one of the GP,s tried to phone me unfortunately I missed the call. I I returned the call, the lady who took my call was so understanding and caring. As I was so concerned about my wife an appointment was made for the same day. I have nothing but prize for the staff ,GPs at carn to coast heath care. The lady that took my call has my personal thanks she deserves a medal.

    After not visiting the practice in person for quite a while I needed an appointment for myself and my daughter as we're both unwell. We were offered sit and wait appointments the same day as our Klinik forms were submitted and the doctor was amazing at listening to us, doing the necessary checks and providing the medication and support needed for us to get better. The doctor and the receptionist were so warm and friendly to us the whole time. We didn't feel rushed atall. Thank you

  8. Review titled Has anyone had a face to face appointment?

    Been trying for two years to get a face to face appointment with a doctor. Every time I call or try to fill in an on-line form the best I can get either 1. We are very busy and are not taking calls. 2. We are very busy and the on-line form is not available 3. Someone will call you back 4. Someone does call back but it's never a gp, at best, a nurse. 5. We don't think you need a face to face appointment. 6. We are very busy, if you go to the Minor Injuries Unit at the hospital they have doctors. There is no continuity with the alleged 'care' provided. To those who you do speak to, they should review your past medical history but with some of the questions I've been asked, I don't know if that is the case.

    Dear patient, Thank you for your feedback. We apologise that you have experienced difficulty in obtaining the GP appointment you wanted for certain ailments. It would be wonderful if we were given the resources to see all patients on demand. Please be assured that your experience does not mean that no patients have had face-to face appointments, as I hope will be clear from reviews left by some other patients. In fact we offered 28,857 such appointments between April and September 2024. Unfortunately the level of demand is such that our GP’s have to make a judgement as to who most needs them by looking at the Klinik submissions received and prioritising them according to clinical need. This may mean for example that you will receive a call from a nurse. However, it also means that there will be a doctor available to see you straight away if the details indicate to the GP that your case is urgent. We believe this is a lot safer than having everyone call and be booked in regardless of need from 8.00 until appointments run out. I appreciate your frustration at being told ‘we don’t think you need a face-to-face appointment’, as you put it, but I confess that I would be more worried if we were to put in place the alternative, which is to see patients whom we do not believe need a face to face appointment at the expense of someone who does. We are aware that patients sometimes confuse the Primary Care Centre in Redruth with the Minor Injuries Unit as the two are housed together. This Centre was put in place by NHS Cornwall in recognition of the high level of patient demand in this area which local surgeries do not have the resources to meet fully. We recognise that this service also sometimes reaches capacity. We are sorry that you report cases where you have been called by someone who has not fully acquainted themselves with your medical history. This may be the case where the problem appears isolated, relatively minor and acute. Ideally this would not be necessary but we would ask you to appreciate that our funds are limited and that means only so many doctors, nurses etc. under pressure to respond to as may contacts as they reasonably can. We can of course address your concerns more specifically if you identify yourself to our patient advice team via carntocoast.c2c.pals@nhs.net.     I attended Homecroft Surgery Illogan Cornwall at 8.50am on Sat 12 Oct for my Covid and Flu jab. There were at least 30 people ahead of me in the queue but due to the excellent organisation of the NHS team, I received my injections within ten minutes. As I commented to one of the staff, “this is like a well oiled machine.” Well done to you all and keep up your great work!

    I have received appointments without delay. There was a problem with my prescription (item prescribed was out of stock), this was quickly rectified, I requested an alternative via Klinik app at 08.30 and received a text from gp at 15.07 advising me that a prescription for the alternative item had been sent to the local pharmacy. I collected the prescription at my local pharmacy at 16.30. Excellent.
