I have just given an 'Atrocious Service' review for my mothers surgery (who seem to think it ok she waits over six weeks for a replacement hearing aid) . This has prompted me to give my surgery a 5 star rating. I have been using the on line system for over three years now and have always received an appointment appropriate for the circumstances. The very first time I used it I had called the surgery for an urgent appointment. Because there was training that day there were no appointments available and was advised to call the next day. When I asked about the on line system that was mentioned on the recorded message I was advised how to use it. I submitted a request and within the hour I received a telephone call advising that the doctor wanted to see me urgently and could I attend the surgery at lunchtime. Two working days later I received a call from the hospital and three weeks to the day from the appointment with the doctor I had a colonoscopy. I have had to wait over three weeks for a prescription review but I see no issue with this. It is all a matter of urgency. When requesting a repeat prescription I simply add the comment that an appointment has been arranged. In contrast on another occasion I did not need to make an appointment. The next working day after taking my diabetic blood tests I received a call asking if I was available the next day for a phone appointment to discuss a concern the doctor had about my test results. This year the surgery has gone to a system where they ask patients to fill in the on line form. For anyone who does not have access they can call any time of day and the online form will be completed for them. This will then go through the triage system and a same day/next day appointment will be arranged if necessary. No waiting on a phone queue first thing in the morning. I consider this the gold standard service all surgeries should be giving. I believe it is very unlikely Central Surgery would insist on an appointment for a replacement NHS hearing aid and the necessary referral would probably be sent on within 48 hours. It certainly would not take a week.

After a frustrating call in Feb with GP where I was made to feel like I was lying about having had allergies my whole life, and repeating myself in 2 appointments (one phone and one in person) where I was only asked what my allergies were, I was sent for blood tests that I never heard any results for. In Aug, I get a call from Leicester Hospital again asking about my allergies. They were much more supportive, communicated more positively and openly and I genuinely felt listened to and like they understood the seriousness of the issue I was presenting (potentially life threatening allergies). I was invited for another round of blood tests because they said they couldn't see any record of my blood tests from Warwickshire, and also did a skin-scratch test and adrenaline pen training for me. Notes from this appointment were sent back to my GP who were asked to call me. I received another letter from the Hospital saying that the GP had said they had tried to call me but hadn't reached me - I had no call history from the GP since 5 days before that letter was sent. 1 week after that letter, I receive a message saying my prescription is ready and that a prescription had already been made for me in March. That had never been communicated to me. The team in Leicester have really put Central Surgery to shame in this 9 month process.

I do not normally leave reviews, but my experience lately and today's visit has changed my mind. It was so uplifting to be seen by a professional and sympathetic human being in these dark days. My issue was dealt with swiftly and respectfully. Both Doctor and physiotherapist treated me with kindness. Thank you.

Absolutely disgusting service doctors do not listen to you and are rude send you for tests then can't remember what was said in the Initial conclusions and then make out like you have it all wrong. I am changing practice as its not the first time this has happened not going to wait for them to slip up again. Absolute disgrace

We attended your surgery with our grandson, your reception staff were very friendly towards him, they found him a dinosaur sticker. Your Paramedic Practitioner was excellent, he did a very detailed and thorough assessment and arranged follow on treatment. A great example of your staff.

18 month waiting list to see an Ear Nose &Throat specialist . Left paperwork with receptionist for a private referral and two weeks later still waiting. Have sent three separate messages via the website which states messages will be viewed and answered same day but no response. Telephoned today 21 people in Queue . I was really hoping improvements could be made at this surgery but sadly it's not looking good so far.

I visited the surgery today after a phone call earlier in the day. I was examined and refurred for further test. I was also given an ECG later in the day. I feel that I was lisened to and made to feel at ease, as I was a little nervous about the visit.

I submitted the form online for a drs appointment, then was contacted just 10 minutes later with the offer of a face to face GP appointment within half an hour… really impressed on how quickly I was contacted. The GP who I saw was fantastic and explained everything so thoroughly. The surgery’s standards have really improved.

Nobody wants to have a smear test but we all know we should. The nurse who did mine made the experience bearable and painless. She explained everything very well and helped me relax. I had been dreading it, having had a bad experience before, and she made me feel so much better. Thank you!

I called the surgery at 8.30 requesting an appointment for today Receptionist called me back at 10.30 to offer me an afternoon appointment which I gratefully accepted. Waited 10 minutes to see the doctor. Very satisfactory experience all round at Central Surgery. Also, the updating of the whole area is a big improvement as are the screens with volume to alert patients to the location of their appointments with named professional. Keep up this improved practice!! Helen
