Review titled Extremely Difficult to get an Prostate Test
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 November 2024
I called to book a prostate test as I am over 50. I was advised I first need to book a consultation and then a test could be booked. The next telephone consultation was over 3 weeks away! Firstly why do I need a consultation to book a test I am eligible for, secondly why does it take over 3 weeks to have an unnecessary 2 minute telephone conversation? No wonder the NHS is under staffed and need more money.

Thank you for your feedback. The clinical team at our surgeries follow NHS guidance to discuss a prostate test with a patient before a test is booked. There are several reasons why a clinician needs to have a consultation with a patient before arranging a PSA test. We are experiencing high levels of patient demand which is why there is a 3 week wait for a telephone appointment. Our clinical team works hard to deliver a safe, caring and effective service to our patients at all times.

Review titled Fantastic Surgery
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah Deeks - Posted on 22 January 2023
I cannot recommend this surgery highly enough - all the staff are so helpful and friendly from the reception and admin/secretarial teams to the HCAs, nurses and doctors. I have visited a lot in the last year with my 90 year old mum and all the doctors have been incredibly kind to her and have really gone the extra mile to make her feel comfortable and supported in her health journey including 2 last minute home visits when she was really poorly. It’s the little touches like remembering she needs to get well so she can get back to going shopping and eating tea and cake that make all the difference! The HCA team really take their time trying to get blood out of her tricky to bleed veins and they always succeed with minimum discomfort to my mum whilst asking about her day to take her mind off it. The nurses are always kind and do their utmost not to hurt her when she has her injections. Receptionists are polite and courteous and go out of their way to help with queries. Calls are usually answered quickly and professionally and when I have to wait I just know they’re super busy but they still go out of their way to help when they answer. I have had no problems booking appointments for either my mum or myself and the secretaries even emailed me directly a couple of referral letters so I wouldn’t have to wait for the post. All held together no doubt my an amazing practice manager. Well done to all of you for providing such a first class service in what are very difficult times for primary care.
