  1. Review titled Reception does not answer calls

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 July 2024

Called 3 times after 2pm. Waited 18 minutes with no update given on my place in the queue. What is the point of Doctors calling patients and leaving a message to return their call if reception do not answer calls?

  2. Review titled probably the worst gp surgury in the uk

Rated 1 star out of 5

to start with, getting an appointment for my partner is so far beyond a joke it really is not funny. when you call you get put into a hold que before you get to the on hold que to speak to the receptionist which take at least 30 mins if you are lucky and not to get cut off during that long wait. when you do eventually get answered you are greeted by the most unhelpful staff in the country if not the world. they literally do everything they can not to help. then you have to resort to the online portal, which is not much better. the amount of repeat prescriptions that my partner has put in that miraculously they never have a record of. the doctors themselves are average at best, don't really listen to the patients. this is not me being disgruntled as this is the generally what i hear when i'm in the surgery with my partner. vast amounts of improvements need.

  3. Review titled Abysmal

Rated 1 star out of 5

It is nearly impossible to get an appointment and reception staff are appallingly rude. It took weeks to even get to speak to a doctor on the phone. It takes an age even to be put through to the telephone system, no matter what time of day you call, and then staff speak to you with rudeness and contempt. The aim seems to be to have nothing to do with patients if at all possible. Absolutely to be avoided if you have a choice. They are unsafe and uncaring.

  4. Review titled Going downhill fast

Several occasions in the last month it has been impossible to get an appointment over the phone each occasion getting cut off after 50 minutes of waiting. When you finally get through to be told no appointments try next day or phone 111 as they keep emergency appointments available - phone 111 and appointments have gone. When you go into the surgery the receptionists are so rude and unprofessional. When you finally get a telephone appointment a week after trying you don’t get a dr phone back when they are supposed to. I’m pretty sure they think leave it long enough you will no longer need an appointment

  5. Review titled Unsafe practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Elizabeth Blake-Palmer - Posted on 15 March 2024

Unfortunately, I don't have great practice to report. I spent 40 minutes this afternoon trying to get through to talk to the receptionist and I was cut off. I did eventually speak to somebody who offered me a telephone consultation with the GP this afternoon between 3.30 and 4.15. No one has been in touch with me and it is now 5.15. I saw a GP on Wednesday the 13th March because I had booked to come in and have a drug review. This is to do with the fact that I had quadruple bypass surgery at Papworth on the 16th of February and I was discharged on two diuretics. I ended up having a 9 kg fluid overload, particularly in my legs where the veins had been harvested. As a consequence, I had frusemide infusions while I was an inpatient. I left Hospital with grossly, swollen and bruised legs, and I was prescribed two weeks of oral frusemide 80 mg a day and spironolactone 50 mg every morning. Both were to be reviewed by the GP in two weeks. I came for that review on the 13th of March. I don't believe the GP knew what she was supposed to be doing. She simply asked me if I was tolerating the diuretics and I said yes so she said I was to continue taking them. However, I spoke to the cardiac rehabilitation team people yesterday as they were undergoing a telephone assessment of me and they said I should be coming off those two drugs because they were going to challenge my kidneys too much if I remained on them and they believed that they have achieved what they were supposed to which was to get rid of the excess fluid. My pre-surgery weight was 99 kg. My immediate post surgery weight was 108 kg. Today I've weighed myself, and I am back down to 96 kg so I now weigh less than I did before I had the operation. Unfortunately the GP has not rung me back this afternoon so I could discuss this with him or her and find out if I can now take myself off these diuretics. I would appreciate it if someone could get back to me, earliest, to let me know please... I've tried several times in the last two weeks since I've been out of hospital to be in touch with Cherry Hinton medical Centre surgery for various reasons and I would say and this is illustrated by what happened to me today, that the means by what you have available for contacting the surgery to talk to anybody is extremely unsafe. 6. Review titled Worst practice can never get an appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 January 2024

Consistently over 10 years this practice has failed on all levels can never get an appointment. I’ve been calling for 3 days and told to call at 8am to get an appointment. On day 3 called at 8am spoke to reception at 8.09 and inform no appointments. Then informed to call 111. Complained as previous days I was told to call back at 8am. Then I was offered a triage request. Why was this not offered 3 days ago? The service here is appalling. The doctor consultations are always hit or miss. At my previous doctors appointment the doctor wasn’t clear with my next steps to refer me to the hospital which has resulted in 2 months delay in treatment to get referred to the hospital. Worse GP surgery of the year and UK!

  7. Review titled Some Good Clinical Staff - Extremely poor management

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 November 2023

This practice is unsafe. There is increasingly less and less opportunity to speak to someone medically competent when required. Having an emergency line makes no sense. The practice should have a triage line, but more importantly determine the level of staffing required to safely support registered patients. Requiring patients to use NHS111 should not be standard practice. CQC and Cambridge Commissioning need to urgently review this practice!

  8. Review titled Not good

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Mrs s e wilson - Posted on 13 July 2023

I rang today for an appointment and got my call disconnected twice so will now have to suffer or go to A&E the appointment system is a disgrace and getting worse.also why ask for a repeat prescription if not all that you ask for is percribed and you then have to request again as they don't call you to talk about what you requesting. This doctor's surgery uses to be a good one but now they can't keep a good doctor's the ones that care about their patients and took time to listen now its all go in and come out feeling like you wasn't listened to and just fobbed of with a perception that when you can actually get in to see a doctor they blame the covid crisis but this surgery was bad before covid the covid crisis has just made it worse. I will say that most of the reception staff are nice you get the odd on that is unprofessional.and the nurses and hca are really nice and kind and give you the time of day

  10. Review titled Unacceptable

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Barney - Posted on 07 February 2023

A member of my family has spent two days and over two hours on the phone trying unsuccessfully to book an appointment with a health professional. A triage system which relies on a person's ability to stay on the phone for an hour at a specific time of day is no way to assess need and creates a broken system which puts unacceptable barriers in the way of accessing GP care. This practice needs to change its process as a matter of urgency. It is not serving its community or delivering its own stated goal of being "sensitive to all patients’ individual needs and circumstances at all times.
