I've only been registered with the practice for a short while and I have had chronic pain for many years which had left me unable to sleep properly for at least 3 of those years. I submitted an e-consult one morning asking for help and received a text message less than an hour later from a GP acknowledging my query with a suggestion and subsequent prescription. I even received a text and hours later from the pharmacy informing me the medicine was ready. Even the text was compassionate and after many years of nothing from my previous practice made me feel at once valued. I've since been sleeping and I feel like a different person. Can't thank you all enough, right down to the triage team who fielded my initial request. Amazing!

Visiting family in Basing from NZ and caught a bug on the plane. Called in the morning. Phone consultation at 8.15. Seeing the Amazing nurse practioner at 12.Drugs ready to pick up 10 mins later. Amazing.Thankyou. What an excellent service.

I submitted an online consultation at 11:20am, telephone call from a wonderful GP at 3:50pm and I collected a prescription at 4:30pm. It doesn't get much better than that!

My husband visited the practice to try to resolve matters regarding his lack of diabetic medication. He'd been prescribed alternative medication due to lack of supply. Unfortunately the pharmacist said he couldn't have it without a prior consultation. He contacted the surgery, they re-prescribed meds for him only for the pharmacist to yet again state he couldn't have this medication without a prior consultation. This same practice had already his recently blood sample. Unsure what to do next, he visited the surgery and explained the situation to reception requesting to urgently see a GP. The office staff were unhelpful and told him to book an appointment via a link. The earliest appointment he could get was Sept after a review he already has booked. My husband wrote a complaint to the practice manager when he got home, requesting an urgent call back on Monday. To date no response and he remains without his meds! It's clear this surgery has an inherent lack of duty of care for patients. Imagine if somebody elderly had to go through this process.

Spoke to a guy regarding some cream for my wife after spending 3.5 months in hospital he wasn’t interested once again a waste of time. This surgery needs a full revamp of receptionists. Totally disgusted

I suspect I have an UTI, it's the second in 2 weeks and the pharmacist cannot prescribe him antibiotics again. I have tried several time to book an urgent appointment with the on line booking system. The system said 3 times that the practice had 'paused' the urgent appointment for the day as they have reached capacity. This is nothing short of awful!! This way, they don't have a clue of who really needs care and for what. The GP service is factually inaccessible even during opening hours.

If you have other options then avoid registering with Chineham Medical Practice (cmp). Moved to cmp due to long 3 week appointment times at my old surgery several years ago. Since then 2 weeks has become 6 weeks! I was advised on 31st July 2024 that the first and only appointment on that day would be 13th September 2024! This is ridiculous and outrageous that we actually pay for this service from our taxes. Patient numbers haven't gone up by a factor of x3 to account for this and the standard of care has dropped significantly even though all the same Dr's are still working according to the front desk. 2 of my last 3 appointments have been with a nurse practitioner who only goes through the motions of running tests and not diagnosing anything! *unacceptable*! I have abdominal swelling/doming and severe bloating which is affected by weather amongst other things so to say that I am concerned that they will allow me to fly in a pressurised aircraft which could cause significant pain or even worsen my condition. It's almost as if nobody cares of the potential risk to my health!!!

this surgery responsible for major negligence in my post partum care, they missed my thyroid function test which resulted in me becoming intoxicated with thyroid medicine. also phoning to get an appointment with a GP is an incredibly stressful affair. i have had county negative experiences with their reception staff. warning to all: if you have complex trauma do not use this surgery. their reception staff are discriminatory and they will gaslight you. absolutely appalling service

I placed a precription into the surgery last week for Isosorbide Mononitrate 20mg X 2, but I went to collect from the chemist at Tesco and found upon arriving home that I had been given Salbutamol 100 micograms inhaler X 2. Tesco chemist have confirmed that this is what the doctors sent. i would therefore suggest that new staff are supervised when filling in precription requests as someone may not be so lucky next time. I have had this experience today myself.

Tried to logon to my account, it now state I need photo ID. It should be easier to check an appointment, considering you have to wait 5 weeks to see some one, you can't talk to the receptionist as they can't help you. I don't know who thinks these ideas up, but it hasn't made anything quicker or better.
