Review titled Terrible idea to centralise
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 December 2024
I’ve been with Grove Park Surgery practice for years and it has been an amazing experience until recently. It all changed after they’ve decided to bring a few practices together. My appointment which I waited for for three weeks was last minute moved to a different clinic and instead of 15 minutes commute to see doctors that I know and trust, it would be More than an hour with unknown staff. I was in a telephone queue with more than 30 people before me trying to cancel as I don’t want to have a no show. I didn’t succeed as it’s impossible to get through and you can’t change or cancel online. another example is vaccination. After waiting for 20 mins with a very anxious child, I learnt that the vaccine hasn’t arrived the day before, and no one bothered to give me a call, so I wasted a couple of hours for nothing. Terrible.

Just moved this practice and in the first day asked for the entire medical history for my son and myself. 3rd days after and some forms filled in I have received the medical reports which I very much needed. Impressed and thank you very much.

Review titled Terrible practice

It is easier to get an appointment with the vet for my dog then to get an appointment with this GP to manage my own health. Need to take time off work to drop off consultant letters; then waiting to hear from them about precriptions changes and test results without success; then waiting to speak to a receptionist for an appointment; still having to fill out obscure online forms; then wait for a call back to make an appointment.

Dear Patient Im sorry you have had a bad experience of our practice. All consultant letters from NHS hospitals are set directly to us and there is no need to be brought in. If your letter is from a private consultant and you are requiring a private prescription to be transferred to an NHS prescription, the process is detailed here https://www.chiswickmedicalpractice.co.uk/medications-prescriptions/private-prescriptions/ Any test requests from consultants should be actioned by the consultant and only tests requested by one of our GPs are actioned in the practice. If you require your treatment to be conducted on the NHS, then please contact us via Klinik as with all new health problems or health problems that have got worse and your case with be reviewed by a GP and you will be contacted on the day for a review or to book an appointment. If you have already completed a Klinik form someone will be in touch. I hope this has answered your query however if you need any further help please get in touch with the practice Kind regards Amanda Meehan Business Manager

Awful service Impossible to see a Dr Klinic system complex and not working Receptionists abrasive and rude Expected to wait at no 25 in a queue on any given day that one calls Mid management by admin staff Given an appoint last week with occupational Therapist that should never have been booked What are we paying our taxes for? Gross mis-management and waste it seems based on my experience! Dreadful treatment of patients

Dear Patient Thank you for your review and I am very sorry you have had a bad experience. As you know I have personally responded to your request via e mail to get a PDF of your medical records today as you would prefer not to use the NHS app and I have explained that our timescales for actioning your request is 30 days although we will do our very best to get it to you sooner. This is so that our service is equitable and fair to everyone and we can ensure our services are safe for patients and we follow due process. The Klinik service is for new health problems and health problems that have got worse and access to medical records is managed by a different team. With regard to our phone lines we apologise for the wait but there is a call back service in place where we will call you back when it is less busy. This does mean that often numbers in the queue are higher. With regard to the appointment that shouldnt have been booked, please contact me and let me know further detail and I will be happy to investigate. Apologies again you had a bad experience of our practice and hope in future you have a better experience. Kind regards Amanda Meehan

Review titled Disappointing

Pre merger I was registered with Grove Park Surgery and the service was really good. Then we had the merger and everything changed and despite being told the merger would create more resources it's the complete opposite. Dreaded forms to fill in which takes forever to complete and if you don't fill one in you can't have an appointment I've tried calling the surgery today 5.45pm as I received a text cancelling a booked appointment. I'm number 30 in the queue. The service hasn't got better it's a complete joke

The new call back facility works really well, super efficient and means one no longer has to wait on hold. Additionally, yesterday I submitted a Klinik request and was contacted the very same day. Excellent.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 2 stars out of 5

In October, after an eye-sight test, the optician gave me a referral letter to give to my gp for further tests at a hospital. I delivered the letter the same day by hand. I had to explain several times that it was a referral letter for the gp, which didn’t instil confidence. Six and a half weeks later the gp has still not actioned the letter. Not a word from the practice about why they are taking so long to refer me. When I have phoned I am told that it’s not yet been actioned and they don’t know when someone will get back to me. Unfortunately, I’ve had a similar experience before. I don’t want to make a nuisance but I feel in a void of poor communication and I’m bracing myself for a visit and determined not to leave until someone actions the referral.

Review titled Really Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5

I was advised I needed blood tests which were taken on 22nd October. The results are available on the NHS app but with no medical training or knowledge are not understandable to a lay person. The only part I understand is a couple of the results are called “ abnormal “ and I should speak to a doctor. So far ok but the first appointment to speak to a doctor is 25th November. I am hoping if there was anything seriously wrong they would contact me but of course I don’t know. Bearing in mind I very rarely use the practice I think this level of service is appalling. I would happily go private directly but this also seems to be difficult as I need the blood test results before contacting BUPA. Grove Park surgery used to have a great reputation. Although I didn’t use it much it was highly respected. Now you barely hear a good word about it. Would I change practice if I could ? Absolutely. Christine

Review titled Caring doctors
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Matt Hamill - Posted on 13 November 2024
I joined the surgery following some poor experiences with other doctors. The service here on the whole has been great. The doctor I have been seeing recently has been caring and compassionate. They took time to listen to what I had to say and really get to the bottom of what may be going on. What made them stand out is the wholistic approach, which GPs sometimes miss. I’ve had responses to the online form quickly and been given appointments urgently when necessary. Although the waiting time was, it was worth it for the service.

Review titled Communication nil
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Flu jab - appointment led clinic. Practitioners appear to think it was open clinic - leading to a long queue of people standing outside in the cold. I suggest that the communication of this needs sorting, so people do not turn up on time for their appointment only to be left out in the cold. I would add that this practice since the pandemic and since merging is not performing very well. There is general air of confusion and lack of knowledge and that the practice is doing you a favour rather than their job.

Dear Patient Im sorry that you have had a bad experience of our flu clinic. We prebook appointment times to allow us to manage patients in an organised way. Each member of staff has a clinic and there is a floating member of staff to reduce wait times and in case of any delays such as a patient taking longer than expected in an appointment. Im sorry you felt there was confusion and that there were queues however we had 6 consecutive clinics running. We do take on board it was clod and Im very sorry you were waiting outside. We will look at future clinics to see if we can manage this so its more organised for patients Kind regards Amanda Meehan
