Review titled Great Alzheimer's Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Vanessa Paldano - Posted on 21 December 2024
My mother is a patient of this practice, the Doctor who visits her care home (Hazel Grove) is so incredibly helpful. I supported her with an in person visit on the 3rd December with two nurses for a vaccination and breast examination. They were so patient and accommodating, thank you so much.

Review titled Joke of a practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

While the reception team and doctors and nurse are fine, the management leaves a lot to be desired. I sent in my repeat prescription request via email well in advance of the due date, I just contacted the pharmacy who informed me that the practice manager hadn't sent over the request. This is not the first time this has happened and it will not be the last, avoid like the plague.

I recently changed surgeries after moving. I’ve just had my 3rd smear cancelled due to staff shortages. As someone of high risk this is just not acceptable.

Review titled Good experiences
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I moved to this surgery after moving house a few months go. With a chronic illness be previously negligent surgeries, this surgery has somewhat restored my faith in the nhs ability to treat chronic patients. It can be hard to get an appointment on the day, and it can take a while to get through to the receptionist, but they are very helpful, and the ability to have non urgent routine appointments managing long term illnesses is brilliant, and seemingly rare these days. Receptionists are knowledgeable, patient and kind, and have a very good ability to triage. Nurses have been brilliant, and the doctors have followed up with high quality treatment and referring, ensuring I don’t fall through the cracks of primary care treatment. In the environment that it is hard to find a good surgery, this has been a wonderful place to receive treatment in an okay timeframe.

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to write this comment/feedback. It’s extremely important for the team to hear from patients that have experienced a good service as they continue to work under immense pressures with demand increasing every day. It’s also helpful to know that our pre-booked appointments continue to be useful to patient groups like yourself. Thank you again Yours sincerely, Mrs C Marks Practice Manager

Dear Patient, Please accept my apologies for the issues you have experienced with our service. We have recently upgraded some changes to our phone system as our patient feedback was that patients would prefer to wait in a queue rather than the phones be engaged. There have been some technical issues, whereby for some unknown reasons callers have been cut off. I have the phone system company currently monitoring the incoming calls to ensure this has been resolved. However, our phone system is extremely busy, especially at peak times of the day and I can only apologise for any distress this has caused you. I would like to assure you we are trying our best to answer the calls as quickly as possible but some patients have complex needs and therefore take longer in order to support our most vulnerable. If you are able to attend the surgery, our reception staff are available at Church Surgery where you can speak to the team face to face to support any bookings. Please accept my apologies once again and we hope you understand the demand the services are under right now. If you are not satisfied with the response to your complaint you can ask the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman to review your case. The Ombudsman's role is to consider complaints that government departments, a range of other public bodies in the UK, and the NHS in England, have not acted properly or fairly or have provided a poor service. Telephone: 0345 015 4033 Address: The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, Millbank Tower, Millbank, London SW1P 4QP Email: phso.enquiries@ombudsman.org.uk Yours sincerely, Mrs C Marks Practice Manager
