  1. Review titled Much Improved

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 October 2024

Been registered here for a few years, but the service is much better now. I rang up with a private problem and was really upset and tearful, I got an appointment with a lovely new lady doctor (didn't get her name sorry, but she had red hair) who was so kind and listened to me. She sorted out a few different problems, changed my medicines and made sure I had a plan for my healthcare. Well done Churchfields.

  2. Review titled Unacceptable practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

I arrived to my appointment and the kiosk wouldn’t allow me to sign in. I went to the desk but there was a woman in front of me talking to the receptionist about non medical stuff. After 8 minutes I was finally able to talk to the receptionist to then be told I am late and will not be able to seen. I am absolutely appalled by this.

  3. Review titled Brilliant nurse, problem is the reception team

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 September 2024

The nurse is absolutely brilliant. Went for an appointment and she was so thorough and reassuring, can't say enough good about her. The doctors are usually great. The only thing letting the practice down is the reception team.

  4. Review titled Pharmacist

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Paulette Thompson - Posted on 07 August 2024

I've been on strong medication for years. I've been back and forth to my doctor with other issue's trying diffrent medication, often my doctor recommended for me to talk to the Pharmacist who works at the practice. I just didn't get why, what could they do for me etc. Two weeks ago I decided to make the appointment and I'm glad I did, the Pharmacist is fantastic; she listened to my problem and what I wanted to do. With her support I'm moving forward to try and change my meds, one I've already come off. I can't recommend her highly enough, she's compassionate and knows her stuff. Sometimes i think we underrate people because they've not got Dr in their name, I've learned that a Pharmacist is just as good. She's an asset to churchfield medical practice, I'm not saying she can help everyone but if you want to change she can definitely help

  5. Review titled Appointment system is just broken

Rated 2 stars out of 5

    by Lisa B - Posted on 11 July 2024

I rang on 27th June to get a face to face appointment with a GP, accepting I would likely need to wait a little longer. Reception booked me after a little battle as to whether a telephone consultation would suit. I got a date of 11th July at 11.30. I received a text confirming my appointment, so thought all was well. Planned my work commitments around the appointment and arrived at the surgery 5 minutes in advance of my 11.30 appointment. I registered my arrival and then noticed I had a missed call with the surgery. When I enquired with the receptionist I was advised my appointment was a telephone one. I showed the text confirming it was a face to face appointment and when I arrived my appointment was accepted on the registration portal. The receptionist in the end arranged for the appointment to be changed and I saw the GP at 11.50 . The whole appointment process needs to be reviewed as it does appear that the technology doesn't always capture accurately what is expected and then as a customer I am required to prove I am not wrong. Receptionist in the back office need to also consider that we can hear every conversation they are having and it isn't professional to be able to hear about other conversations they had held with other patients over the phone.

Dear Lisa B Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you experienced a misunderstanding with the type of appointment you had at the practice. I am pleased that your appointment still took place at this time. I will speak with the reception team to ensure everyone is familiar with appointment types and how to record these. I will also feedback your comments to NHS IT department to see if any improvements can be made to the clinical system

  6. Review titled Shambles

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mark - Posted on 25 March 2024

Eventually got though to receptionist ( the unqualified doctor) to be given an appointment in 2 weeks time. I attended the appointment which was a nem doctor. To be told my meds would be at my designated chemist within 48 hours. A text would be sent for me to arrange an X-ray . A week later I call the doctors and can’t get through… Absolute shambles

I am sorry you feel you have not had a positive contact with the practice. For GP appointments we have emergency on the day appointments and routine appointments which are bookable 4 weeks in advance. With regards to your x-ray, the hospital manages their own appointment booking system so patients hear directly from them. If you would like to discuss your individual experience further please contact the practice where we will be happy to discuss.

  7. Review titled Why is this practice even here?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Nic - Posted on 03 May 2024

My first ever appointment was really good. I signed up last November was seen pretty quickly, put on meds and I'm recovering well. But I have been trying to get an appointment since the middle of March, it is now the beginning of May and I've just had to have it rescheduled for another two weeks. This is beyond ridiculous.

I am sorry you feel you have not had a positive contact with the practice. For GP appointments we have emergency on the day appointments and routine appointments which are bookable 4 weeks in advance. We have 7 GPs working at the practice but you may experience delays if your preference is to see a specific GP who works on a part-time basis. I am sorry your appointment was rescheduled, we try to avoid this wherever possible but sometimes our staff are sick too and we have no alternative but to rearrange appointments. If you would like to discuss your individual experience further, please contact the practice where we will be happy to discuss.

I am sorry you feel you have not had a positive contact with the practice. For GP appointments we have emergency on the day appointments and routine appointments which are bookable 4 weeks in advance. For those emergency appointments, the on-call duty GP will advise the receptionist to add the patient to the list for the GP to call the patient back or signpost the patient to the most appropriate service. This way the emergency list is manageable and prioritised for those patients requiring emergency care. If you would like to discuss your individual experience further please contact the practice where we will be happy to discuss.

  9. Review titled Apallingand zero empathy. unproffesional Phycopathy

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Tony - Posted on 28 April 2023

You have to give a brief description to the receptionist ( thats if they answer and you get through ) and then the Dr's relay messages back to the girl in the reception to ring and pass messages on and medical advice rather than the drs speak themselves and get the full details of the patient instead of a brief desciption from the receptionist. I've checked other reviews from Google and can't believe what im Reading from many many other people's experiences. Avoid at all cost
