Review titled Very very bed experience appointment and communication with church site medical practice Mansfield
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 September 2024
Too many times I got appointment with midwife and GP. They know midwife coming just in week one day then why she gave appointment on other day. When I went for my appointment receptionist tell me your appointment change in next week. I am pregnant and they doing this thing with me. They don't care about me. When I tell to receptionist they said we don't have contact number or allow to talk midwife. If you don't have right then how can manage emergency suitation about pregnancy. When I call emergency midwife and explain all suitation they said we not doing any thing for you. You have to contact you GP. GP not helping to me.

Dear Patient I am sorry you felt the need to leave a negative review for us following a visit to the practice to see your midwife. On the date of your appointment you had arrived very late, and the Reception team tried to help but unfortunately the midwife was with a patient and had a full clinic for the rest of the day so couldn't see you. You were however booked in again within 2 days. The midwives do not work for Churchside Medical Practice, we accommodate them during set times for them to see patients, and they book the patients in themselves. Hopefully my response explains the situation to you and you understand this was something outside of our control. We strive to ensure patients are seen when visiting practice, but sometimes if it is a late arrival and the clinic is full for the rest of the day, which it was in your case, the clinicians have to operate safely and the knock on effect of seeing late patients can have a detrimental effect to other patients and the clinicians. I trust your future visits to the practice will be a better experience for you. Kind Regards, Practice Manager

We are sorry to hear of your experience when visiting the practice and using the car park. There are several large signs situated around the car park to alert you to the parking enforcement in place. This is not something that is managed by the practice, and is an external company so we cannot always help with this. Hopefully if you have written to the enforcement company advising that you were visiting as a patient you will have had a positive outcome. Kind Regards, Practice Manager

Review titled Parking fine

After 50 mins on the phone the wife finally got through, took her down and waited for her in the carpark, done this many times before, maybe my wifes fault for not paying attention but you now apparently need a permit, so £60 fine today for 20 mins, thanks a lot, be aware if you don't know.

Dear Daz We are sorry to hear of your experience whilst using our car park for your visit to the surgery with your wife. We have had the car park managed by an outside company for the last 3 years due to being close to the town centre and the general public using it as a free car park and reducing the parking for our patients. There are signs situated both around the car park and as you walk through the entrance, so I apologise if you didn't see them. Hopefully you responded to the PCN to advise you were visiting as a patient and this was resolved. Kind Regards, Practice Manager

Review titled Rude & dismissive telephone appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2024
The way the doctor spoke to me regarding a serious and delicate condition left me feeling upset, disbelieved and extremely apprehensive of seeking any further help. It was very obvious from the tone that they didn't care or want to listen. They were extremely dismissive and made me feel like I was wasting their time. I really wish I'd recorded the conversation for evidence. I have since sent a letter (with test results) and more details about my condition, but have not even had any acknowledgement that it has been acted upon. I suppose it could have been lost in the post, but after such a bad experience with the telephone appointment, It's left me feeling like it's just being ignored on purpose.

Review titled Bad Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

After nine phone calls and not able to get an appointment. I had no choice but to go to a walk-in centre to get seen. Then eventually getting a scan , having to go to the same procedure to get results. I’ve still not got them . The receptionist has just hung up on me. I am understandably very frustrated and concerned about my results which the receptionist should have taken into account. I understand that all calls are recorded, please listen back to this recording and tell if that was justified.

I am sorry to hear of your frustration, and assure you we are doing our best to accommodate all of our patients needs. Online appointments are available daily, however they do get booked by patients very quickly. Please continue to try this method or give us another call and advise the Receptionists that you have been trying for some time to book in with us and we will do our very best to organise an appointment for you. Kind regards, Practice Manager

Review titled Overall, a great surgery

After attending an appointment a couple of months ago, I’ve had several blood test and review appointments over the last few months. I’ve found it easy to book an appointment online (you have to be quick though!) and always seen on time. Blood test results have been returned the same day and a follow up appointment booked the following day. Staff friendly and professional.

Review titled Lack of empathy
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 August 2023
After plucking up the courage to make a call about my increasing anxiety and extremely low mood due to Fibromyalgia & Mental health issues. The doctor seemed arrogant and rushed through the call and was quite insensitive to my current struggles, i felt more anxious after the call than i did before, was told to contact the crisis team which are mostly of little help too these days. Medications i have been prescribed over the past few months have caused worsening symptoms with little education from doctors and to truly listen to a patients wishes. I was worried about taking further medication that would increase my symptoms but was dismissed and told to listen to the advice and medication advised. I try to avoid making appointments now unless i really need too. Will be looking for another surgery I will say the reception staff are very friendly and have always been supportive but a little tlc and empathy from medical professionals to its vulnerable patients would be nice.

Review titled Rotten appointment system
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 June 2023
Unable to get through, unable to book on line, over complicated system of who you can see and when for a medication review, blood tests or issue, resulting in multiple visits and attempts to contact the surgery (which no doubt adds to the fact that you can not get through or an appointment) Finally wrong blood tests taken at last visit resulting in having to try to get through to the surgery again and being unable to. I really wish they would look at their patient demographics and work out a fairer and simpler system that meets the needs of the community they serve.

Review titled Great consultation

Saw one of their registrars; who was on time, listened patiently, examined me thoroughly, requested investigations and even gave me a prescription for my other problem. I would definitely ask to see one of their many registrars in future, with no hesitation.
