  1. Review titled The Worst GP Practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 October 2024

Me and my family have had the worst experience with this gp Practice. We were previously under the surgery when it was called Brayford Square. I’ve never previously had any issues with Brayford Square. Everyone was helpful, there were always appointments available. Ever since we have been moved to City Square Medical Group, we have had the worst experience ever. The gp’s are unqualified. The reception staff are rude and impolite. The practice itself is a joke that always has long waiting hours on the phone and in person plus no appointments available. I don’t understand why they bother keeping the practice open? If you are never able to provide any appointments. I have completed numerous online consultations to be heard from a gp but I have never heard back?! It’s an actual time waste even having an online consultation process. They lie about not having appointments available, maybe they just keep it for themselves I’m not too sure. Don’t bother registering for this gp as you’ll probably never ever be seen and it’s a time waste. They’ll have you waiting as number 1 on the list for over an hour, while you see the gp reception staff just chatting away. I called regarding a lump on my leg and to have an emergency appointment for it. They said they had no appointments available and to call in the morning at 8 the following week. I was in too much pain so went to A&E that Friday, and have a had a surgery and have been discharged on the Monday. I was told by my doctor that my gp should arrange for my dressing to be changed in 48 hours. So I called them to arrange this. They said again nothing available and to call them back on Wednesday. I called them on Wednesday at 8, for them again to say nothing available and I really needed my dressing to be changed. The reception told me she would call me back after speaking to the nurse. She did call back to tell me there were no available appointments and told me to go to a&e. I told her I will not go back to a&e and wait the ridiculous hours for a dressing change, when this should have been given by my gp. All she could do was repeat to go to a&e, despite telling her I will not, she was not helpful and I found to be kind of rude. Overall, its a joke of a practice that needs to be closed or have a whole rebrand with some new receptionists, gp’s and nurses.

  2. Review titled Terrible practice, rude nurse and traumatic experience

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 September 2024

Absolutely awful experience. I had my first smear test and was shamed for not getting one done sooner (people seemingly forget that there was a pandemic for 2.5 years and hospitals were only open for emergencies, as well as the fact that people live abroad where it is harder to get a smear tests). I was spoken to in a really demeaning way by the nurse doing the procedure, and was constantly interrupted when I was explaining my health concerns (irregular bleeding) and was told "you don't get it" repeatedly, and was even told that I "may as well just leave". I wasn't being listened to and I had to flag that I didn't like the way I was being spoken to, and mentioned that I have bodily trauma and find gynecological procedures difficult enough as they are without being spoken to in a dismissive way. The nurse barely changed the way they were speaking to and interacting with me. During the procedure, the nurse made comments on my uterus, causing me to feel body shame on something that I literally was born with and cannot change. The nurse told me to stop crying, tensing and "just relax" whilst the speculum was inserted and moving around. Absolutely horrible experience and terrible treatment of a patient. I do not recommend signing up to this practice, and I have unregistered from this practice immediately, as well as writing a formal complaint to the NHS. Do not go to this clinic, the staff are disrespectful, unprofessional and rude.

  3. Review titled A choice of appointment times to suit

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Carol Bassi - Posted on 25 September 2024

Today, in the late afternoon, I arrived for my appointment and whilst in the waiting area, I overheard the receptionist talking to a patient. I thought the interaction between the receptionist and the patient was exceptional. They listened attentively to the patient. And when offering a follow up appointment, gave him a choice of dates and times. This is really helpful to us patients, because it means we don't get stressed, thinking we have to say "yes" to the first available appointment. Instead the patient was able to choose a time that suited them. I could tell the patient left feeling relieved and well cared for. This kind of support and consideration is wonderful. I also like the idea of the "call back" option when you ring the surgery and you are held in a queue. I pressed 1, when asked and got a call back 35 minutes later. Then when I spoke to the receptionist, I was able to book 2 appointments one with the nurse and the other for a diabetes check - again I was given a choice of dates and times. This really makes the patients experience so much better when needing to see the nurse or other health care professionals. Thankyou.

  4. Review titled Brilliant service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael Hellens - Posted on 22 March 2024

In the last couple of years the service from this practice has been outstanding. The e-consult system works perfectly, everybody is polite and supportive and I would recommend to everyone. I recently submitted an e-consult form and the representative who contacted me today to make an appointment was kind, empathetic, prompt and efficient. Thank you

  6. Review titled Not a great practice

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Level of service has gone down significantly since merging with City Square Medical practice. Can't get a simple reply even though they state they will get back to you within 48hrs. Receptionists bar one could direct me to my issue. Really disappointing service.

  7. Review titled Professional, thorough and friendly

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Eleni - Posted on 12 July 2023

I made an e-consultation where I spoke to my GP, who then made me an appointment in person at the practice. The staff were helpful, knowledgeable, and informative, giving a range of advice and referrals where appropriate. They listened to my concerns, asked relevant questions to further understand my condition, and gave experienced responses. I didn't feel rushed in my appointment. Overall a great visit.

I would to commend the Doctor for his professionalism, duty of care, kindness and compassion towards my mother. I really cannot thank him enough for the help he has given us, as my mother has many medical issues. The doctor always goes above and beyond to help us. We consider ourselves very lucky to be a patient at the practice. Thank you to all the reception and nursing staff, who always help us when we are in need of help. This is truly a Wonderful Practice.

  10. Review titled GP ask to buy medication instead of prescribing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 June 2023

I am seek from last 4/6 weeks and disparately need medication and i did buy some of the medication over the counter from pharmacy (paracetamol xtra and Allergy relief medication but non of them is working! I am having hy fever that makes my life miserable as i cannot breath properly , sleep, study, work and all the he social activities! Now it’s trigger my migraine pain and i do not have any medication. After several e-consultations I received a phone call and asking me to buy a medication over the counter but when i go to buy without prescription the pharmacy says £14 or more! That’s really expensive for me as a low income, I cannot afford this price! Then i went back to my GP surgery and request for to write a prescription for me! But the receptionist refused to request and saying try some other alternative cheaper medication! I was said I have been tried all but did not work! Then again said you have to look appointment for that reason! But no appointment available! Then Again i did e-consultations and leave a message on the form why i need appointments! But this gp surgery again refund to write prescription! Even if i pay the prescription charge it won’t go up to £10 but without prescription it’s price £14 seems like they don’t care about you whether you critically ill or not! They don’t care about cost of living crisis instead of helping patients by prescribing medication they ask patients to buy! I don’t know what to do as i sm out of work from last 3/4 weeks because of my illness!
