  1. Review titled Exceeded expectations

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I just wanted to review my recent experience at Clervelands Medical Centre. The receptionist went over and above to assist me even though she was only supposed to log in at 09.00am which I didn't realise, she assisted me a few minutes before hand so I could attend my appointment. The GP who assisted me showed empathy and kindness and went over and above to assist me. I was very impressed with all aspects of the practice.

  3. Review titled Good luck getting to see a doctor!

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Whilst the staff are overall very nice and helpful, it has been almost impossible to get an appointment at the medical centre. If you want to book a face to face appointment, the wait time is over a month. Pretty useless for most health issues. You can call at 0800am for a same day appointment and join the lottery of trying to see a doctor with 10s of other people. Call at 0801am and you’re almost certainly out of luck. The reception staff are clearly required to filter the calls and you have to give more detail about why you want an appointment. They will then make the decision on whether you can have one. Even if you do pass their scrutiny, it now seems to be policy that only telephone appointments are offered as part of a triage system. These appointments assume that you can sit and wait for a phone call all morning or all afternoon which for most working people with a health issue is extremely inconvenient and for some jobs impossible due to the commitment of their job. I’m not sure whether the centre is underfunded or whether the continued expansion of house building particularly in the Bishops Cleeve area means there are too many patients on their register, but the service has been getting worse for a number of years now and it is extremely frustrating when you feel that you need medical advice from them.
