Dear patient Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such lovely feedback and giving us 5 stars, it’s really appreciated. We’re very lucky to have such a fantastic team of nurses and Health Care Assistants at CG. Working together and sharing information within the team really is the key to patient centred care. You experienced, first hand, how sharing information within the team leads to the patient receiving prompt and appropriate care and attention. I’m so pleased you were happy with the service you received. Kind regards Joan Beddows

Review titled Appointments

3 weeks for a telephone appointment to speak to a Doctor isn’t really acceptable in my opinion - both my wife and myself are experiencing these long waits.

Dear Mr Bell Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback and letting us know you are not satisfied with a 3 week wait to speak / see a GP. We completely appreciate that waiting times can be lengthy when booking a routine appointment, however, if you are in need of an urgent appointment, you will be triaged and treated by our emergency Duty Doctor on the same day. You can also use the V Consult, https://m85029.thevconsult.net/#/ This will secure you, your choice of either a face to face or a telephone consultation within 3 working days. The other option is to tell our reception staff that you are available to attend a cancellation appointment at short notice. If you would like to discuss any of the above options, please contact the surgery ask to speak to me, either by phone or face to face. I do hope this information has been of some help to you. Kind regards Joan Beddows

Review titled Appointments are like Gold dust
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by David Williams - Posted on 22 May 2023
It is now almost impossible to book an appointment. The reception staff will try anything to put you off getting an appointment with your own GP, Including trying to diagnose your symptoms even though they are not medically trained advising you to look up your symptoms online, and as a last resort they advise you to ring 111 or go to your nearest Drop In GP Centre. If you do manage to get an appointment it will most likely to be with a Gp you have never heard of who has no knowledge of you medical history. Totally unacceptable !! Smacks of Corporate Services no longer caring GP Service.

Hi David I’m sorry you had such a disappointing experience when trying to get an appointment. Are you aware of our V Consult? It’s a much faster way of securing a routine appointment, usually within 3 working days. You can copy and paste this link to your online search bar or access it via our website: https://m85029.thevconsult.net/#/ We do have an extensive symptom checker on our website that is very informative, we’ve had some very positive feedback from patients who have used this in the past. I imagine the receptionist was trying to signpost you to alternative pathways for medical advice. CG receptionists are told by the doctors to ask for a brief reason for the appointment in order to book you with the most compatible doctor. Of course, every patient has the right to decline this request, however, there have been times when a patient insists on seeing a doctor when in fact, their ailment is something a GP cannot deal with, such as blood test, a broken bone, stitches, and long line of other complaints that can only be attended to by the nurse or in secondary care. Receptionists are trained to ensure these episodes do not happen. All patients have the right to an appointment with a GP of their choice, as long as they understand they will possibly have to wait, this might be because the GP is sick or on annual leave. Patients’ medical history is well documented, meaning any doctor will be well aware of any medical conditions the patient has. I do hope my response to your post has been of some help. Kind regards Joan Beddows
