  1. Review titled Terrible receptionists

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 June 2024

I called to chase up a sick not because as per their policy it takes up to 48hours and that time had elapsed. I called and the receptionist cut me off mid sentence to say it takes up to 72 hours. I said 72 hours ? She then gruffly said not to take it out on her. I had been nothing but polite which my husband vouched for as he was in the room at the time. The receptionist didn’t finish the call professionally and just put the phone down. I was very upset. I am not well and have been left in tears as I never raised my voice or anything. I work for the NHS and am ashamed people like her are having direct contact with patients. She needs serious retraining. The calls are recorded so please listen back. I am seriously thinking of moving GP practice

Dear Patient, Thank you for taking the time to feedback and I am very sorry to understand that our service levels were below those you expect and as a result you may register at a different practice. I have listened back to the telephone recording. The receptionist was polite and professional, and the call ended with you thanking her for her assistance. I am very sorry that you interpreted this differently. We continually review our service levels, and we are always grateful for patient feedback. In response to your feedback, we have reviewed the wording on our website / online consultation platform regarding timings for prescriptions and sick notes, in particular that this refers to working days (the timeline for requests made over a weekend will not start until Monday). It is generally appropriate for your registered GP to provide a sick note and working patterns dictate this may not always be possible on the day of request. We recognise that our reception team are usually the first line of contact with the surgery and require our ongoing support in an increasingly challenging NHS. Following your feedback, we are arranging a group training session for our reception team in Effective Communication to help deliver the service levels expected by our patients, but also (importantly) to support their individual well-being in a role where demand continues to increase. Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Judith Kassapian Practice Manager

  2. Review titled Great practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I called the practice at 12.30 and was number 8 in the queue, I was answered in approximatly 5 minutes. The receptionist was very helpful and I was offered an appointment at 16.10 the same day. I am super happy with this practice.
