  1. Review titled Above & Beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Many thanks for an excellent service, from communications to same day appointment following E consult request & for the doctor & receptionist who almost at the end of their working day resolved an issue involving the pharmacy which meant I was able to obtain the medication required.

  2. Review titled Hard to get in touch with

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by S P - Posted on 02 August 2024

Phone lines don't operate for extended hours of the day and most of the time they refer you online. The phone lines aren't managed properly at all. My 82 yo father in law has waiting over and hour and given up several times. He's gone into the surgery for an appointment for his pain then gets sent away and told to use the online form. He doesn't have access to the internet so has to wait for us to do it for him. Quite embarrassing and undignified if a sensitive request and he'd rather have the patient confidentiality between him and the GP directly. The online requests usually close off by midday due to "high volume" so you have to try the next day. This is even when you only want to pass information on to your GP but have to use the option of "admin request". NHS England cut off the prescription request phone line so it's either take a piece of paper to the surgery, use the very unavailable online form or try and teach elderly people up use the NHS app. Phonelines were a great help for him but you just can't speak to anyone anymore. It's even more frustrating and isolating for him. Prescriptions constantly "stuck in the system" between GP and pharmacies so have to sit in long waiting call time to get rectified. He says the practise is empty most of the time when he does get an appointment and they still run late. I explained a lot of appts are over the phone. Father in law goes for follow up appointments with GPs after being to the hospital, but GPs don't even read the notes so he has to explain everything from the beginning. He's also been quoted old blood test results when they've been updated since and had to tell the GP that. Needed urgent diabetic appointment but was told no appointments for weeks, but after speaking to GP, magically receive an appointment the next morning. It's really pot luck with who you get. The nurses are fantastic and keep the place running! Collingwood would be lost without them. Collingwood seems to be trying to keep patients are arm's length and it's just got considerably worse since the pandemic. Over reliance on complicated online systems is really damaging trust and confidence in the surgery.

  4. Review titled Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by mr thomas m holmes - Posted on 11 May 2023

I tried to order a prescription on line. There was a problem with the app. Went on the website ,same problem. Phoned the surgery, waited 65 minutes .my prescription was ordered under duress. Got a message back from the doctor telling me that I may not be able to receive another prescription unless I make an appointment for my annual blood test which was already booked a week previously had the doctor cared to look. So I phone the surgery again to confirm that the bloods the doctor wanted would be taken in the previously booked appointment. On the phone for another 45 minutes, no answer. Tried again the following day , this time I was on the phone for 55 minutes before someone at the surgery hung up on me. I then Went to the surgery during my working hours to ask about the doctors message and to see if I needed to book up for a further blood test to which I was informed that the blood test that I had already booked would suffice. I informed the receptionist that the service was extremely poor and left. I then received a further message from a doctor telling me not to phone or visit the surgery. Astonishing!! So if the website is playing up or the nhs app isn't working wete up the creek without a paddle. Extremely poor communication, or lack of.

  5. Review titled Ignoring referrals from 111

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 May 2023

I was assured by 111 that they would send a referral to Collingwood family practice and I would get a call back and appointment from them the same day. I waited by the phone all day nothing, the next day nothing. I assume this practice are aware 111 are part of the health care system.

  6. Review titled Excellent clinicians

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa Nock - Posted on 01 March 2023

I have used the surgery more frequently since having my baby, they have always been thorough and swift caring for my daughter and myself. The follow up text messages with additional medical information has also been really useful especially after an appointment with a child so you can retain all the information and plan of care discussed. The appointments are more accessible and efficient face to face. I have received care from doctors, nurses and physios - all have been exceptional, compassionate and thorough in thier treatment and follow up. Thank you to all the staff including the medical receptionist who have been fantastic with facilitating appointments.

  7. Review titled Awful appointment system

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 March 2023

It is impossible to book an appointment to see a doctor at this practice if you can not get to a phone at 8 o'clock in the morning because you do shift work or not allowed to use a phone in your work place and the receptionist will not book one for you in advance.

  9. Review titled Exceptional service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jayne - Posted on 19 October 2022

In the past year this surgery has provided to myself and my mother absolutely excellent service. Calls are answered swiftly, the staff are really caring and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and no long waits for an appointment. They always call back if they have a cancellation. They are providing an excellent covid/flu vaccination service. They are thorough, organised and professional. I’m not one to normally leave a review but I believe this is so very well deserved. I am more than impressed! One of the best family practices in the area!

  10. Review titled Rude, ill mannered receptionist

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Ann - Posted on 11 August 2022

I called at the surgery today, on approaching the reception the receptionist on duty continued looking at the computer, no eye contact, no good afternoon, even though I had said hello. Without eye contact she said"yes" I advised her that I had collected my meds from the pharmacy and items were missing, I gave her my name, she still continued looking at the computer, she asked what the items were. I gave her the repeat medications names that were missing, without eye contact she said"well you only had an amount for 14 days last time" I tried to advise her that the dosage had been changed by the GP, she states that the other item cannot be sent electronically, I have been having these repeat medications for years. Still without any eye contact she said" I will get doctor to do a prescription for remaining amount. I also asked if I could possibly have a medication list to take on holiday, because I would need to produce this at airport security. She was puffing and really not interested in anything I said. I asked to speak with a manager, her reply was there is no manager, I asked to speak with a supervisor, then she advised that the person was not available, I asked for her name, she replied I have already given it to you and refused to give her name, I did go to look for one of the senior nurses but they were with patients, this particular receptionist is rude to me every time she is on the front desk, the other reception staff are always polite and courteous as are the doctors and nurses, there is obviously a training issue, she has got no manners and no people skills, I did tell her that if she didn't like her job she should maybe look somewhere else, when someone is ill they do not want to face the prospect of being spoken to and treated disrespectfully just because a person is having a bad day, the nhs advertise Zero tolerance, but it must work both ways, what a shame that one person who is as rude as she is can spoil the reputation of a Good GP practice. I would like someone to contact me to discuss further.
