    I tried to call the surgery but the line dropped twice [each time after a 30 minute wait]. Very frustrating.

    When requesting a repeat prescription on line, could the practice please notify the patient if the request is refused for any reason? Several times I've waited for a collection text from the pharmacy only to find that I need a prescription review, and by which time I've run out of the medicine.

    I had an appointment booked today with Slaithwaite Health Centre. The previous appointment with this doctor was held at the Globe Mills centre and so without double checking the text message while on a hurry in my limited lunch hour at work, I went to Globe Mills instead. Oddly, I was able to check in at the desk without the receptionist flagging to me that it was actually supposed to be held across the road. Instead, she left me sitting and waiting for an update. After 20 minutes, I asked whether I'd missed something on the announcement board to which she replied "Oh sorry I didn't check the messages on the system. Your appointment is at the other centre." I went across to the other centre and was prepared to have to rebook it. Fortunately, the doctor was able to see me straight away but acted like it was entirely my fault. The attitude was poor form. Sick of service organisations in the UK acting like they are doing the favour for the customer or patient when it's actually vice versa!

    Following the current Government tv advertisement, encouraging men over 50 to have a psa check at your local doctor’s surgery as this is a disease best caught before symptoms show. On trying to do this with cvgp I was told as I haven’t any symptoms I can’t have this check and need to speak to a doctor first. At 55 I have never been offered a health check and feel extremely discouraged to try do so again. I don’t understand the response I received, contrary to the expensive government funded advertisement!
