Review titled Useless Receiptonist and appointment system

By blood test result came with indication of some serious disease and I wanted discuss about the matter asap but it seems like totally impossible to make an appointment and the receptionist was so unprofessional. I’ve called in the morning and I’ve been told that a GP will call me anytime of the day. But in the afternoon I’ve got a phone call from the most unprofessional receptionist telling me I will have a routine check up in 28 days. I did explain in the most humble way that how stress I feel about the result and my family is in deep stress as well .All I ve asked maximum 5 minutes from a doctor to explain about the test result. The receptionist was telling me Umm Umm umm most of the time rather than talking. And seems like no idea of what they’re doing. It seems like people with vulnerable health condition , call to this surgery and the staff seems like making assumption with patients and not treat them with empathy. The doctors and nurses are ok but the receptionist or other staff members who deals with appointments and prescriptions are not professional at all. I believe the should be tested with mystery shoppers and should not be in a health care profession . Better to be an debt collectors call centre ax they have no empathy for any one what so ever.

Review titled Outstanding service from GP and Respiratory Nurse

I recently moved to the area and registered with the Combe Down Practice. I do not usually see my GP more than a few times a year as I rarely get ill. On this occasion I attended an annual Respiratory review with the Respiratory nurse and saw the GP. My experiences were World Class. Both clinicians took time to listen to me and exceeded my expectations. I have never seen such an amazing team. The GP spent almost 30 minutes helping me to understand my diagnosis. She patiently answered all my questions. I did not feel rushed. She was professional and empathetic. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I have developed heart failure recently and can't praise the practice enough. Nothing is too much for them, doctors and nurses alike. I have had texts with feedback from doctors after 8 p.m. on several occasions, which reminds me how hard they work. You can see the doctor the same day if its urgent. Phone lines constantly busy is only a minor irritation-the downside of a very popular practice.
