Review titled Poor comment left on my record
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 18 September 2024
I saw a person at the practice who I thought lacked a sympathetic manner. When try to explain and show my symptoms he continued typing on his computer. His comment on my record says I left before he had finished giving his advice. This is not true. He had clearly finished speaking to me so I left. He could easily have caught up with me outside his door but did not. I would not like to have to consult this person again. Never had an issue at Concord Medical Centre in 30 years. Indeed all staff have been very kind and efficient.

Review titled Thanks Concord medical centre and Southmead h
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Lin Robson - Posted on 20 February 2024
I have a lump on my arm. I got an appointment via AskmyGp, the dr examined it closely and explained to me that was a lipoma, as it had changed and caused some pain recently, my doctor also mentioned the location of it could be important, so sent me for a ultrasound to get more details, that’s reassuring. Technology is amazing, it was interesting to look on the screen with the technician on a Saturday morning at Southmead hospital, a bright, clean and well organised facilities, the technician was accommodating, we could see everything in detail, the bone, the fatty lump, measurements, what and where. It was confirmed as an innocuous fatty lump, the location being near a bundle of nerves and could cause some pain, so,I am not worried anymore. I am really impressed that the same dr contacted me today to check if I was happy with the diagnosis, grateful that she was professional, generous with her time and effort and we recapped with a bit more information for me. Thank you again doctor.

Review titled Bad behavior of the receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2024
The receptionist are the worst, making remarks , rude , unprofessional and making gestures when asked about appointment. The doctor are helpful but the receptionist are terrible and definitely does not know any manner I was late for my appointment just for 15 minutes because when they send me the text confirming I have an appointment it was 11.20 and the appointment was at 12 So as I had to take a bus I was 15 minutes late and the receptionist behaved with me inhumanely

Review titled Ask my gp
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2024
I have always tried to conform with changes. Ask myGP was one that for repeat prescription worked well, until now. When going on site I was faced with a stupid form headed NHS. Where before I could go on site see a list of my medical needs and click what I required, I was asked my email details date of birth that took my husbands help to work out how to get the right month and year, then was asked to spell what medical medicine I required the strength and amount. Ido not feel I am stupid regarding using a iPad but this confused me. Also with the old way you could check back to see if doctor had approved the request. This abled me to go to pharmacy and know prescription would be ready. Now I have to go to reception ask them to do repeat wait seven days to ensure the prescription was okayed. So please either go back to previous or take getting your prescription on line through ask my go off of the recording as it is not easy. Not many people know how to spell their required medication nor remember strength, if keep in dated easy to use containers, the boxes medication came is thrown away. When I asked at pharmacy about this I got a shrug and told receptionist could do the repeat for me. So rather than saving receptionist time, my travel time, my husbands time as he drives me I have to come to surgery. Thankyou hopefully you could think a better way or go back to old way that worked. Old adage don’t change what’s not broken.

Although a lovely Dr contacted me today, but only after a ask my gp message. Letters were sent several weeks ago to them from hospital about my cancer diagnosis and treatment. No response from any Dr. I have been a patient for 38 years and rarely needed support.

Dear patient, I’m very sorry to hear you felt let down by our service especially after your recent cancer diagnosis and treatment. Without knowing your name to look into this, I’m unable to see what issues you encountered and whether there were any actions the practice needed to take as a result of the letters you mentioned. I’d like to make sure we answer all your concerns and see what happened as all our patients’ are important to us especially ones like yourself who’ve been with us all this time. If you have chance, please contact us on 01454 616767 and ask for me so we can have a chat. Many thanks, Denise Wyatt – Patient Services Manager

Review titled Abysmal sevice

After waiting for a response to Askmygp the doctor booked me into a clinic that was totally unrelated to my problem. The nurse wasn't interested did a cursory glance at my ear and prescribed antibiotics. The problem with my ear has been ongoing for some time and when I asked about the referral to the hospital that the surgery made last year the nurse was very unhelpful. I was under no illusion that the nurse wasn't interested which was only compounded by the fact that the gp couldn't be bothered to book me in with an appropriate person at the surgery. Concorde surgery no longer provides any kind of service. I currently have 2 referrals one for a potential perforated eardrum and one for cataract and I am unable to find anyone at the surgery who can assist in finding out the current position this is an appalling situation. I can't use the word service because one isn't provided

Review titled I’m worried
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Jackie D - Posted on 24 June 2023
I have always recommended Concord due to their superb response to ask my GP enquires. (Usually same day). They even maintained this standard whist rolling out covid vaccines. I don’t know what has happened to them lately, they have really fallen short of this standard. I had no response for 3 days and had to call to ask for an emergency appointment as I was so Ill. My daughter is currently experiencing the same problem, she is quite poorly. Contacted surgery 3 days ago, nothing and it’s now the weekend. This is inexplicable as I fail to understand what has changed so much. Please address this Concord you are letting your high standards slip.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent experience. We always aim to make sure all our patients can access the right care at the right time, and I’m sorry you were not seen for an appointment on the day you contacted us. In line with new national guidance, we are working towards meeting national targets for taking action on the same day a patient contacts us. This could mean arranging a face to face, telephone, or online appointment for a future date with an appropriately skilled member of our general practice team, or direction to an appropriate alternative service. This will always be done according to the clinical needs of the patient. Concord Medical Centre is also working with the rest of the local healthcare system in the area to address what action we take when the demand for appointments exceeds our safe capacity. During May this was challenging as we had three bank holidays and our waiting times increased - I am sorry that you were not kept informed of this delay and we will do better next time. Our normal service has now resumed so I hope your next experience of us is improved and that your daughter has now received help from us. Dawn McCaffrey Practice Manager

Review titled Great practice

by Rajinder h - Posted on 28 April 2023
I was apprehensive about my appointment today with my GP. But she was so lovely and understanding. She did not hesitate to repeat the terminology when I did not understand it. She listened to all my concerns and put my mind at ease with the topics that I have not been able to openly discuss before. I felt so much better after this appointment.

Had a minor surgery treatment done, fantastic doctor and nurse who really put me at ease, they were really friendly and explained things great. Gave simple and beneficial aftercare advice. The whole service from arranging the first consultation through to the actual treatment to the follow up appointment was smooth and in a timely manner. Thoroughly happy with the practice.

Review titled Great practce

by Ann Dent - Posted on 24 November 2022
I have recently had two emergency appointments at the surgery and the care I received was exceptional. GP surgeries appear to have come under alot of critism in the media, however I have never experienced any problems with the Concord Medical Centre and I have been a patient there from the very beginning. The online facilities are great and I have always found everyone at the surgery very professional and friendly.
