Review titled Frustrating inefficient and obstructive
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Nick - Posted on 23 December 2024
When I have got to see a doctor in person they have always been great but it is such an effort to even get to that point. A month wait for a non-urgent appointment and if you try to get an urgent appointment and can get passed the extremely rude receptionist then you will get put on a list for the doctor to phone. They may phone or they may not. If they do they will phone once and never retry so if you haven't got a good mobile signal, have poor hearing or forget to take your phone with you on a bathroom break good luck. They will rarely phone close to any appointment time they have given you. If they change your meds they will not put the new ones on the system so you can order them on line so you will have to write a letter walk to the surgery and post it in the post box provided at some point in the next 2 days someone may action it, which I am guessing takes less than 5 minutes to actually do, if their IT is working ...

Review titled Receptionist
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Charlotte - Posted on 30 December 2024
I have been a patient at Cornerways for over 25 years, I have been increasingly disappointed with the uncaring attitude from receptionists. Today a simple request was met by the receptionist with short shrift and very terse. My order issued on 5 December I just discovered was incorrect medication and also missing a vital item. Speaking to the helpful chemist on Saturday they submitted a request on my behalf to rectify but in the meantime I got poorly with flu and so as to not make myself worse by not having the correct meds I rang the surgery myself to get help with an emergency prescription. The receptionist said she does not deal with repeats and I have to put in a written request or e-consult which takes days, I explained it was not a repeat but a correction of a supply prescribed, I explained these things happen and also my fault for not checking at the time of collection but now I am left without the correct meds. She just wasn't helpful at all keep repeating crossly to submit a written and when I said I don't want to end up in a medical emergency she said goodbye and put the phone down. I then called the chemist and explained and they helpfully suggested to contact 111 which turned out to be a quick online form for an emergency supply which was available for me to collect in less than 20mins. Such a simple fix to get me through the next few days so my question is why are the receptionists not trained to give the same information and offer the caring attitude as the chemist shop assistant and pharmacist. So disappointing as the doctors at this practise are good but they are being let down on front of house service.

Review titled Confused and useless
Rated 1 star out of 5

So I collect a blood test referral letter.. I call the phone number printed on the letter to book a blood test. When I eventually get through from Beckenham Beacon to Orpington to Princess Royal there is or has been 'apparently' a cyber attack so there are only emergency blood tests and I have to wait 4 weeks for a routine test. I then try 6 times to call Cornerways Surgery to ask them why they failed to let me know that there is this wait. When I am explaining the amount of calls (17 in total) to the obnoxious and rude receptionist who constantly interupts me when I explaining she then tells me there is no cyber attack anymore????. How can this be when I have made 17 calls spoke to 6 different people in hospitals only to be told there has been a cyber attack and I have to wait? Who is wrong in this issue? The rude receptionist then tells she will end the call because ' I am rude'. This clear proof that the NHS is broken,,, the staff in the NHS are confused and or inept or just dumb... Either way none of what has happened has helped me book an appointment to have a blood test.... this and other issues proves what a shambles Cornerways Surgery is!

Review titled Terrible service

I spoke to whom I believed to be a Dr on Wednesday who prescribed some new medication for my high blood pressure. He said to go to collect it at the pharmacist. Turns out he was not a dr and therefore the prescription was not at the pharmacist for me to collect. When I called the surgery I was met by a singularly unhelpful person at the telephone, she accused me of being rude and hung up on me. I tried to call to speak to the practice manager today, as suggested by the person who answered my call yesterday only to find she doesn’t work on a Friday! No idea on the status of my new tablet

Review titled Shocking.

I recently had the misfortune of visiting, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had in a healthcare setting. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this place was a disorganized mess. The receptionists at are the absolute worst. Upon arrival, I was greeted with cold stares and a dismissive attitude. They seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to the needs of patients. When I finally managed to get their attention, they were incredibly unhelpful and rude. They acted like I was an inconvenience rather than a patient in need of care. Not sure how the receptionists can be allowed to work in a place like this. Never seen anything like it. Avoid at all costs!

Review titled Awful practice

I had rung on Thursday to ask for a prescription where I was told by the receptionist erm that's not my job even though it is his job to ensure the doctor gets my message, I was then passed to another person who told me the doctor would ring me. The doctor never rung me so I rang again the next day where I was told my call wasn't even registered on the system and no one was aware I needed a prescription. I was told again the doctor would ring me. Now a week later I'm still without my prescription and no one has rung me !

Review titled Poor service

Impossible to get through on the phones. Impossible to get appointments without a very long lead time. I had been seen at the urgent care clinic and told to get a referral from my GP. They had no phone call appointments for days and I had to do that first to get an in person appointment. When I turned up for that appointment they had double booked the slot. Previously I’ve been told an in person appointment to see a 3 month old would be 4 week wait. Just so unreliable and disorganised.

I am lucky to usually enjoy good health so rarely have to contact the surgery but did so today at the insistence of my family. The reception team were friendly and helpful and I cannot fault my doctors professional care. Very reassuring, thank you.

Review titled Helpful staff & doctors
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alan Tod - Posted on 24 May 2024
Having been to the minor injuries unit at the Beacon for a toe infection which worsened, I went into our surgery for advice. The receptionist was most helpful and sympathetic and even managed for me to see a doctor, who came to the rescue. Needless to say, I was most relieved and immensely grateful to the staff of Cornerways - our surgery for over 40 years.

Review titled Consistently Excellent Service

Thankfully I haven't needed to visit my GP Practice very often (3 times in the last year), but the last time I had perfect diagnosis for a serious skin infection. This was combined with the proper medication, resulting in a good health outcome. Just wanted to thank you and please keep up the good work in these difficult times.
