Review titled Corner Ways Surgery
Rated 1 star out of 5

My family has been members of this practice for a long time, we always found them to be helpful and accommodating. Sadly this has changed. My parents are very old, with my mother being bed bound, the practice obviously fully aware of her condition, on numerous occasions we asked for the GP to visit her as things where deteriorating, this was always met with the need for a telephone consultation, or a district nurse being sent instead, everything is done to avoid the GP being involved. I can only put this down to the fact that they are understaffed, as when turning up there for an emergency appointment you are told no GP's are on site. My mother passed away, the GP came and certified the death, they have however referred the matter to the coroner because they had not seen my mother for a period of time. This is not through want of trying on the families part, the practice did not inform us of this, I found out when speaking to the funeral directors, who told me protocol is for the GP to make contact with us to advise. I will be making arrangements to find a caring staffed practice for my father, as I now have lost all faith in corner ways

Review titled Very poor service from receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michael Wild - Posted on 30 December 2022
I have been a patient at Cornerways for approximately seventeen years, and have always been happy with them. Unfortunately, my wife received poor service whilst waiting a call back from one of the Dr's on 28th October 2022. When my wife was speaking to the receptionist, she found the person to be confrontational and rude and was speaking over her the whole time, whilst telling her she was professional. The receptionist then hung up on my wife. Today, 30th December 2022, I rang up for my blood test results at approximately 13:50. The receptionist said you have a lot of results, which one do you want. I answered all of them, I then asked for the receptionists name so I would know who had given me the results. The person said I am the receptionist, I asked the person for their name again, they told me it was irrelevant and would not tell me. The person did say the Dr wanted to speak with me and I was about to make an appointment, and asked again for their name. The person immediately hung up on me. I now have no appointment, no results of my blood test. I feel this is totally unprofessional to treat a patient in this way. I immediately called back and said I required the Practice Manager, to call me when they are next in. That person said they were unable to leave a message for the Practice Manager to contact me, and told me that I should email them myself. We have always found the receptionists over the last seventeen years to be friendly, highly professional and helpful, but over the last few months it has considerably changed and I feel that some receptionists are not there to help the patients.
