I register by NHS online to be able to get an appointment with a GP, according to NHS once I register and if I need an urgent appointment I can contact the GP directly. I called on the day I register to understand if I could get an appointment and the receptionist, very rude, just told me as I wasn't yet registered and I need to to emergency. Nice welcome !!!!

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that there appears to be some confusion as to the speed of the online registration. The online registration does not register immediately on our practice system but requires processing by our administration team. At busy times e.g. the Christmas period, this can take a few days. Whilst we would endeavour to offer an appointment on the day of registration this is not always possible. From the details you have posted it would seem that you were directed to the urgent care service as your need was urgent for a same day appointment. I am sorry that you felt that the receptionist was rude. We aim to treat all patients with care and compassion and I am sorry if this wasn't your experience on this occasion. If you would like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at the surgery. Sue Brown Practice Manager

  3. Review titled Very impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have found the Doctors at Cornerways to be very helpful. I used the E-Consult function and I was given antibiotics through the NHS spine and had them within 24 hours. After a second course was requested, the Dr rang me to discuss my symptoms. Similarly when the infection returned, a follow up and an in-person appointment was arranged. Getting past reception can be tricky but that is the nature of Dr's receptionists but I found the E-Consult very well managed and incredibly helpful. Commending the practice on this in view of many GP surgeries being the butt of complaints following Covid. A new way of working beckons which can work well.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback on our e- Consult online service. I am glad to hear that you found it helpful and an effective way to contact the surgery as an alternative to telephoning reception or attending in person. By providing several ways of contacting us we aim to provide a more convenient and accessible service. I am glad this has proven to work in your experience. Thank you once again for providing your feedback. Kind regards Sue Brown Practice Manager

I have been with this practice for many years and always been satisfied, however recently have found the receptionists that I have spoken to, hard to deal with, and even practice manager not acting on my concerns re results of tests Long wait to speak to gp and gp not aware of why I was asking for a consult.. Not satisfactory at all

  6. Review titled Brilliant surgery

Rated 5 stars out of 5

We have been going to this surgery for nearly 53 years and have always found it great. We are moving soon and will be very sad to be leaving Cornerways. Even through Covid we were able to talk to a doctor much more easily than any other of our friends who were elsewhere. Just recently the doctors have been more than helpful to get me quick appointments to hospital because I wanted things sorted before moving. We both say well done Cornerways, we would recommend you every time. Big thank you from us both.

  7. Review titled Super Service

I wanted to see a Dr and while phone triage is in place I was offered a face2face appointment within a week. The Dr was running on time at 3pm which is amazing and was thorough, cheerful, helpful and my trip to Corner Ways was a joy rather than a chore. Well Done all at this practice.

Dear Mr Ballaster, Thank you for your helpful feedback. We aim to offer as many ways of contacting our doctors for an appointment, including telephone, online and face to face at the surgery, depending on patient need and preference. I am glad that you were able to easily access the service you required and that you found our doctor to be helpful and thorough. I will pass your kind commnets onto the doctors and staff. My family has been members of this practice for a long time, we always found them to be helpful and accommodating. Sadly this has changed. My parents are very old, with my mother being bed bound, the practice obviously fully aware of her condition, on numerous occasions we asked for the GP to visit her as things where deteriorating, this was always met with the need for a telephone consultation, or a district nurse being sent instead, everything is done to avoid the GP being involved. I can only put this down to the fact that they are understaffed, as when turning up there for an emergency appointment you are told no GP's are on site. My mother passed away, the GP came and certified the death, they have however referred the matter to the coroner because they had not seen my mother for a period of time. This is not through want of trying on the families part, the practice did not inform us of this, I found out when speaking to the funeral directors, who told me protocol is for the GP to make contact with us to advise. I will be making arrangements to find a caring staffed practice for my father, as I now have lost all faith in corner ways

  9. Review titled Very poor service from receptionist

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Michael Wild - Posted on 30 December 2022

I have been a patient at Cornerways for approximately seventeen years, and have always been happy with them. Unfortunately, my wife received poor service whilst waiting a call back from one of the Dr's on 28th October 2022. When my wife was speaking to the receptionist, she found the person to be confrontational and rude and was speaking over her the whole time, whilst telling her she was professional. The receptionist then hung up on my wife. Today, 30th December 2022, I rang up for my blood test results at approximately 13:50. The receptionist said you have a lot of results, which one do you want. I answered all of them, I then asked for the receptionists name so I would know who had given me the results. The person said I am the receptionist, I asked the person for their name again, they told me it was irrelevant and would not tell me. The person did say the Dr wanted to speak with me and I was about to make an appointment, and asked again for their name. The person immediately hung up on me. I now have no appointment, no results of my blood test. I feel this is totally unprofessional to treat a patient in this way. I immediately called back and said I required the Practice Manager, to call me when they are next in. That person said they were unable to leave a message for the Practice Manager to contact me, and told me that I should email them myself. We have always found the receptionists over the last seventeen years to be friendly, highly professional and helpful, but over the last few months it has considerably changed and I feel that some receptionists are not there to help the patients.

  10. Review titled Impossible to contact

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 September 2022

All phone lines playing a recorded message that they are closed despite calling during opening hours (12:58 on Wednesday). There is no way to talk to anyone or make an appointment. Have called several times since to get the same message. Even when I’ve got through in the past wait times are extremely long due to the awful telephone appointment system still in place after covid. I’ve had to end up seeking help elsewhere as I couldn’t afford to wait nearly two weeks with a child.

Daer Patient, I am sorry you recently experienced a problem with our telephone system. All Bromley practices were closed for a training session on the afternoon of 21 September which is why you received an out of hours message when you called, directing you to another service. Since covid we have added additional lines to our telephone service to increase capacity. We are currently receiving an unprecedented amount of calls and the doctors endeavour to prioritise the most vulnerable patients. We are currently recruiting additional clinical staff. I am sorry you have had a poor experience on this occasion. Please contact me at the surgery if you would like to discuss this further. Sue Brown Practice Manager
