We arent allowed to name doctors in the review so i'll just refer to them as Dr1 and 2, but they know who they are. Ive been receiving treatment for a deep abscess that needs packing & dressing every 2 days. Before meeting Dr1, I was incorrectly told by the hospital that my abscess would heal in just 2 weeks. However, during my first consultation with Dr1, I immediately noticed their patience, empathy, and attention to detail. Dr1 carefully explained that my wound would take upto 3 months to heal, not 2 weeks, which gave me a much clearer picture of what to expect and allowed me to organize my life accordingly. Before their advice, I felt lost and anxious about how to manage everything, especially since I live alone and don’t have a support system. My previous experiences with packing, both at the hospital & with other practitioner were extremely painful, causing me significant anxiety & emotional distress. However when Dr1 performed my 1st dressing, it was completely pain-free. This was life-changing for me as I now attend every appointment without fear. After this experience, I told Dr1 I only wanted to see them moving forward. Dr1 told me they worked at another clinic but wasn’t available on Fridays, so I would need to visit the hospital for my dressings on the weekends. Unfortunately, the hospital staff did not irrigate & dry my wound which led to an infection. Upon seeing this, Dr1 quickly prescribed antibiotics & coordinated with their colleague, Dr2, to see me on Fridays. This seamless teamwork between Dr1 & Dr2 allowed my wound to heal faster; I was able to return to work sooner than expected. Dr1 has positively impacted my life, emotionally, mentally, physically & financially. Dr1 told me about the NHS prescription service which saved me around £400. Their care and advice have accelerated my healing process, allowing me to regain structure in my life & resume work; also alleviating financial stress. The level of care I’ve received from Dr1 has been extraordinary. They go above and beyond in a way I would expect from a private doctor, and I’ve never experienced this level of heartfelt sincere service from any medical professional. For instance after I missed an appointment Dr1 personally called to check if I was okay; a gesture that truly moved me especially knowing how busy they are. Another example of their dedication is when they accommodated my work schedule. Although Dr1 usually finishes their day at 5, Dr1 offered to see me at 5, cutting into their own time to help me because I had returned to work. Dr1s humility & sincerity in everything they do is remarkable; every time I thank or compliment Dr1, they humbly insist that theyre just doing their job. I would also like to thank Dr2, who is also an empathetic and skilled doctor. Dr2 has been doing my dressings on Fridays and has also provided excellent care. I feel lucky to have both Dr1 & Dr2 taking care of me, and I am grateful for everything they have done.
