I have a foot injury that has prevented me going into work. I filled out an online consultation for a sick note and was told someone would contact.me within 5 days. The 5 days elapsed so I contacted them again like I was told to if I hadn't heard back. The response I got was a member of our staff will contact you as soon as possible. A further day had gone so I phoned them, receptionist said I have been notified by text that a doctor will call me in a few days time. I never received such a text so double checked that they have my new number. The receptionist confirmed they have and told me to expect a call from doctor on Saturday. I am now sat here at home at 6.45pm and have not received a phone call from the doctor. All I need is a sick note for work, is it really that difficult. I'm on a low income and cannot afford to take unpaid leave when I'm entitled to statutory sick pay but without a sickness note that's what's going to happen. I am not at all impressed by the service or should I say lack of service.

The practice is very well run. From my many interactions with the friendly, helpful receptionists, to my visit from the friendly paramedic who put my mind at ease & treated my problem, making me feel OK again. I can't fault the practice. Thankyou guys. 😀

Review: I would like to thank (The Paramedic) at Providence Road Surgery for going above and beyond with her superb patient care. She visited me recently to look at an area next to my catheter that was open & inflamed. Being bed bound & relying on a catheter I was quite concerned when the area started to ache & my carers were telling me the area is cut and looks open. The Paramedic visited me and took a swab and prescribed me a course of antibiotics. This was a couple of days ago and she called me this morning to say my swab did come back as infected, but the antibiotics she prescribed will take care of the infection. It really put my mind at rest knowing the results of the swab and knowing the antibiotics will get rid of the infection. She didn't have to call me, but because she didn't want me to worry, she did. I was able to ask her some questions my carers @ I were discussing last night regarding the care of the wound as well. So Thank You to the Providence Road Surgery Paramedic, you are a credit yo the surgery. Sorry, I am not allowed to use your name.

What wonderful team at the surgery who helped me when I was taken ill late last week. From the two lovely clinical support assistants who took my phone calls to the fantastic GP who provided the consultations. The clinal support team listened, calmed me and responded quickly. The GP helped me, checked in with me and ensured I got the treatment I needed. The online system via the NHS app works well, however, personal approach has not been lost. Great surgery.

I cannot get a face to face appointment to see a doctor, not even when giving plenty of notice. The Practice online system is still not issuing face to face appointments since the Covid crisis stating - "Due to the evolving situation with coronavirus we have switched all online appointments from face to face consultations to telephone consultations. This has been seen by NHS England as one way of managing the infection risk of coronavirus" Not good enough now that the crisis is under control. An early phone call to the surgery only results in a same day telephone consultation, which is not effective in my case where a joint mobility assessment is required. A telephone receiver cannot feel resistance! My recent visit to the surgery to request a face to face consultation with a DOCTOr resulted in being granted an appointment over 4 weeks later, which I happily accepted as it was for a non life threatening condition. However, when I checked my appointment details via online records today, I find that the appointment is with a CLINICIAn not a DOCTOr, as requested. I know that Clinicians can make certain decisions but I specifically asked to see a Doctor and was not informed that it was for a Clinician. I feel duped. This service is just not good enough.

Being told I was No 34 in the queue is not great. Getting through to speak to somebody is nigh on impossible. The surgery needs either an answer machine and a person to return calls or simply more lines and more staff to man the phones. I tried eighteen times to make an appointment and the line was always engaged.

I've recently joined the practice and have been blown away by the service received, from everybody including nurses and reception. The best surgery I have been to. Very happy I left an underperforming miserable surgery

I've been with this surgery for almost 3 years now, and i can say i have never had a bad experience. Maybe a few neutral ones, but definitely nothing that can outweigh all the excellent ones. During these 3 years, they've been efficient, caring, and very thorough, even when i myself forget about follow ups, and I've seen them for quite a few different issues. The staff is always nice and cheerful. Thank you
