    *In the middle of April, I started feeling some discomfort and pain in the upper abdominal area next to the xiphoid process when swallowing food. *24 May—face—to—face appointment with the doctor (it took about four weeks from the date I contacted the surgery to get one). I was referred to Farnham Hospital (insidevue) for the ultrasound scan. No one ever contacted me (and no one was picking up the phone either); hence, I decided to do it privately since the condition was causing stress and anxiety, affecting my productivity at work. *On 24 June 2024, I did the ultrasound scan privately and reported back to the surgery, asking for the course of action. The receptionist informed me that since this was done privately, no one would look at the results, and I must wait for Farnham Hospital to contact me. I was not given any meaningful reason why this is the case. After some discussions with the receptionist, I was booked for a telephone appointment on the 16th of July. My symptoms at that time were getting more concerning. As it stands now, after almost 3 months of concerning symptoms, no diagnosis is in place, and there is no clear understanding of when and how this will be resolved. Best regards.

    I phoned this practice this morning with a problem after a very difficult morning in pain and discomfort only to be given a standard dismissive it’s not our problem attitude. The receptionist wasn’t listening to my plight and kept resighting that I was no longer their problem since I had been referred to a consultant there was no patient care. She didn’t ask me about my discomfort and pain and offered no other answer or solution to my condition. I found it extremely upsetting and worrying that that robotic attitude to a patient at the surgery could be acceptable. I put the phone down on the end frustrated and no further forward.

    Please contact the practice if you need an appointment. We are here to help, and the team will assist you. You can always ask to speak to someone else if you are not happy, rather than putting the phone down. And of course, all calls are recorded and can be reviewed by the managers so that if there are any training issues, we can deal with it.

    First consultation at the practice for some years. Very nice GP who listened and gave good advice. Able to collect prescription on the day from the pharmacist which was excellent. Very pleased with care given.
