  1. Review titled Fabulous practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Although I have several long term health conditions, as yet I don't need to regularly see a doctor. However I am called in for reviews and check ups with a medic. I cannot begin to imagine the complexities, restrictions and requirements the practice have to work under. We know that our population has massively increased and our infrastructure, across the board, has not. But we are where we are and I'm sure each member of staff wishes many aspects were different. At the end of the day people go into this line of work because they care. And that is exactly what I've experienced at Crossroads Surgery, from receptionist through to nurses and doctors. Patiently and very pleasantly engaging and doing the very best that they can. Who could ask for more? Certainly not me. Thankyou very much to every person on the staff team, whatever your position. Your care, concern and compassion are appreciated.

  2. Review titled Not as good as it was.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 February 2025

This practice used to be very good, but having taken on so many new patients it's getting harder and harder to get an appointment. Having recently made an appointment the waiting time is now over a month to see a doctor, where it used to be a week or less. This just causes unnecessary stress to people who have worrying health issues. Hopefully they will soon get back to being the top quality practice they once were. On a positive note, the reception team are excellent, always polite and answer the phone very quickly.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. While our practice does have appointments available sooner than four weeks, all appointments are now triaged by a clinician. This process ensures that each patient receives the appropriate care within a safe timeframe. If your condition is urgent, you will be offered a same-day appointment or one within five days. However, due to high demand across the NHS, a four-week wait for routine appointments is fairly standard but our aim is to reduce this. We appreciate your understanding. Best regards, Cross Road Surgery

I have always found all the staff to be friendly, efficient, and caring. My last visit ended with the receptionist, who sorted my problem immediately, and arranged an appointment. Perfect!

  4. Review titled Great new Dr and triage system

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Michael - Posted on 28 June 2024

I had to email my new GP, a progress report, using the new system. Once I found how to do it, this was very simple. I left a report at 1810hrs and had a call at 0915 the next morning for an 1130 appointment. I saw my own GP and got exactly what I needed from him. I've only seen him on about 4 occasions this year and I love that he is super professional as well as very direct and clear about things. As my dad would say," he calls a spade a spade". I love his manner with myself, and my wife also thinks very highly of him. Please try to keep him there are my previous couple of Dr's weren't so helpful. Thank you Dr for all your help so far and in the future.

  5. Review titled Amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by CMB - Posted on 03 June 2024

I am amazed and delighted at how efficient, helpful and friendly everyone I spoke with at Cross Road Surgery is. I managed to get an appointment within a short timeframe and saw my GP. We have a clear plan with follow ups booked in and I feel very reassured. I have just moved from another local practice as they were awful and completely unhelpful. Cross Road Surgery are fantastic and have really restored my faith. Thank you so much!

  6. Review titled Not good

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Phoned them 2 days in a row regarding prescription and was first in the queue for 15mins and still didn’t get to speak to anyone. Absolutely disgusting.

  7. Review titled Understandably Brilliant

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Ellen - Posted on 21 April 2024

I’ve been back and forth a few times regarding the same problem. This particular visit a came with apprehensiveness but after talking about my situation I’ve been met with a referral and I’m actually pleasantly surprised. Generally I am seen with decency and complete understanding every time I visit. It’s not often people want to go to the doctors but after having a pleasant experience every time, I’m glad I come to this one!

  8. Review titled Poor outdated service with rude staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Garry Brookes - Posted on 19 September 2023

It's 2023 and these guys live in the 70s. I called to request a repeat prescription and was told that this isn't possible and that I'd have to visit the surgery (not for to see a doctor of course!) to post a written note of what I need into the equivalent of a suggestions box, and then wait up to 72 hours for relief of something that is pressing today. 2023 and this is the way? The surgery employs the rudest staff you could meet, who repeat the mantra / policies like robots, with no awareness of how backwards it is. 2023 and people have to visit?? Terrible surgery that has lowered service and standards over the last 15-20 years.

Dear Gary Thank you for providing us with feedback about the services we offer. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with our repeat prescribing service. Although at present we do not accept requests over the phone, you can email crossroad@dorsetgp.nhs.uk or if you have access to the NHS app you can request directly through that. An alternative is to submit an eConsult for a prescription request, this can be done via our website, crossroadsurgery.co.uk. Thank you
