Review titled Booking chaos
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Tony - Posted on 15 July 2024
I have no idea what I can expect from this practice, every time I try to book an appointment for the nurse, the booking experience is different. This time I’m going to be two weeks out of date for an injection, this is completely unacceptable. Primary Care 24 has no compassion for its patients and certainly no flexibility, no wonder there are problems with staffing levels. This practice needs some serious management re-organisation.

Review titled Terrible service for patients and doctors
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 10 October 2023
Getting an appointment is almost impossible , we now choose to wait on the step at 7.30 in the morning since they did not send a urine sample but tested in house and missed stage three cancer. They seem to have one doctor on at a time and they are worked to death and demoralised but im sure the partners are doing well . I have cellulitis in my foot with a venous insufficiency a dangerous combination yet i have no appropriate painkillers, as the over worked doctor forgot to print it out, he did print the other three he gave me. Its just the worst practice that now is almost impossible to use. No usable phone access, the reception staff are becoming acclimatised to such a bad service that they now take any comment as an affront . Plenty of staff in the background beavering away developing income for the surgery but just the one doctor ay a time for 1000s of patients. It seems actual general practice has been put on the back burner. I work with very able special needs and every year the surgery sends out a nurse to review them , yes a nurse comes to the house, when do you or your loved ones get that kind of service , never now days . This happens because this creates extra income for the surgery and that seems to be very relevant at crossways nowadays.... The shareholders should be ashamed , they have taken away a vital service and I am sure patients are suffering . I know i am, and all for Mammon

Started ringing at 8am. 45 minutes later phone was answered only to be told "no appointments". No surprise there. Was advised to go on E consults. Again no available appointments. This practice used to be really good. However since Pc24 took over it has gone downhill dramatically. They really need to look into the running of this practice. Will have to look at changing doctors.

Review titled Death of what was once a great service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by LINDA DRAPER - Posted on 22 September 2022
I have had several unrelated issues and tests done, not once has anyone advised me of the results. After many calls, and not being able to get through I gave up with the phone and went to the surgery. The receptionist gave me the results (obviously I Had Questions for the GP) no appointment was offered and I had to take pot luck ringing each day at 8pm, only to be given a telephone appointment with a nurse practitioner nearly two weeks later. Fed up with it all. I am sure the one and only receptionist manning the phone and desk is too!!!! Today I have been buttoned once and left holding for 8 minutes before the phone cut off again. Hence the review. Also why are you able to leave a message for the GP on the app when ordering medication to find nothing has answered, the response I was given was "oh we don't look at those messages". ????????? All faith gone. Never mind I'll make another cuppa.

Review titled Awful service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Linda Rose - Posted on 18 November 2022
I was on holiday in the area, and became unwell. This surgery was the nearest, so having no success phoning, my husband took me there. The surgery was empty, and I asked a very bored looking receptionist if I could see a doctor. She didn't know what to do, so had to ring Dorchester to ask advice. The reply was that they couldn't see me. According to NHS guidelines, I should have been seen. I had to go home!
