Review titled Booking appointments
Rated 1 star out of 5

The outright dismissal of patients who need to book there appointments online is disgusting. My partner is dyslexic, so finds reading extremely difficult. He phoned to make an appointment and was told to just visit the My GP App... He obviously struggled with this, so phoned back to notify reception and attempt to book over the phone again only to be told to return to the App. Surely a GP surgery of all places should help those with additional needs and make appointments available for all to book?

Review titled Avoiding face to face appointments
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 29 July 2024
This practice are increasingly trying to avoid face to face appointments by inappropriately “consulting” and prescribing medication through text and email. I was prescribed medication based on a photo and a brief text message exchange and did not receive any detailed answers to the questions I asked in response through the online consultation form. Sometimes they limit this online consultation to 1 patient reply then do not thoroughly address the specifics of the questions being asked. When I did get a face to face appointment I found that the online consultation had missed the specifics of the condition that could only be diagnosed by touching the affected area. This oversight could have led to the condition becoming very serious. This is not the first time that I’ve been prescribed ineffective medicine for conditions without an actual examination. This cannot be good practice and does not feel like a good level of healthcare.

Review titled Great experiences.
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've been with this GP for 4 years and have nothing but praise for them. I get quick responses when they tell me they will contact me back (within 30 mins today), the receptionists always help me with appointments and medication queries and the Dr's, nurses and HCAs are understanding and approachable. It is very rare I have issues with anything at Dalefield. It is the best experience I've had with any GP surgery in Bolton. Today I went throught the econsult form online which concluded by telling me to ring the surgery, which I did. When I explained this the receptionist took my concerns immediately and advised me the triage Dr would review it and contact me back. The receptionist returned my phone call within 30 minutes with the Dr's instructions.

Review titled Rubbish place.

Receptionists think they're doctors, try to make an appointment and they don't seem grasp the concept that appointments exist on other days and not just the day you ring there go to response is call back at 8am they refuse to make an appointment for you at a later date it's always call at 8am to which you could be number 2 in the que at 8am and they still won't have an appointment. If you can get passed the gate keepers however and see a doctor they might actually sort it out that's if they don't just refer you somewhere else. I came to this practice from another thinking I'd be able to see a doctor and in the 2 years at this practice I'm yet to see my actual gp, yet to see anyone atall actually

Review titled Terrible practice
Rated 1 star out of 5

Staff very unhelpful! No help what so ever in booking an appointment as can no longer book over phone/person must all be done online even though my 90 year old mum had been told to book an emergency appointment due to a bleed on the back of the eye yet I’m just told by staff to go online when I’m already at the practice and can book in person yet getting told I can’t book an appointment with them at the reception I have to go online! I’d like to know how you expect older people to book online when half of them don’t even have Wi-Fi? Seems like this practice is Just forgetting the older people making it easier for them to die now than book an appointment absolutely ridiculous!!

Review titled Not good

Line is constantly engaged, managed to speak to someone at 8:40 to be told there is no appointments for my 2 year old when they should be seeing children under the age of 8 on the same day. Wasnt even offered a GP federation appointment for today. It is the second time they tell me to go accident and emergency. Was there a week ago because again, none of the GP's can see my 2 year old.

Review titled Abrupt and Lacking in Empathy
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 01 June 2023
Several experiences of this now. Everytime we make a phonecall to Dalefield Surgery we really polite and everytime we are greeting with a very abrupt person on the phone, who is usually lacking in empathy and wants to end the phonecall as soon as possible. We've had occasions where we were not given the opportunity to fully explain our issue. These issues have been reported to the practice manager several times but still remain.
