    I just wished to pass on my thanks and compliments to the Practice Nurse I visited at Kingsmead MC this morning. I attended for an appointment and the nurse could not have approached the appointment in a more empathetic and kind manner. She put me at ease, was efficient and helpful and made the experience effortless. Thank you.

    I was very Ill for 4 days. Rang to get some help, live alone and I was crying. Receptionist couldn’t care less no appointments go to 111. I did and they got Danebridge to call me within the hour. Rang to follow up once well and make routine app. I was 9th in the queue. You have to ring back after 5pm for routine. But not too long after 5pm or you won’t get one. I was at swimming with son at 5 and called. 25 calls before I could get beyond engaged time and for it to actually ring. Then 20th in queue all while in a changing cubicle 🙄 got in car and drove to docs… now 11th… asked if I hang up can I book at desk. Apparently you are not supposed to but she could sense my inner rage. App booked but now cancelled due to staff sickness .. the irony! Booked for a week later so we shall see. I really don’t think it has to be this difficult I feel so sorry for older people. Trish was brilliant and really helpful she needs cloning and some reception staff need to learn empathy …. She could have given me the same information in a different tone and it would have been fine. Not left a crying woman vomiting endlessly who lives alone to crack on!

    Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry that you have found it difficult to access services at the practice. As a practice we continually review how our appointments system works and introduced the 5pm call time for routine appointments to alleviate pressure on the phone lines first thing in the morning. NHS 111 can book appointments for patients who access there service and are triaged and would benefit from a GP consultation. I will pass your feedback to the Patient Services Manager so she can share with the reception team.
