    It is impossible to book an appointment over the phone with this surgery. The reception team simply do not pick up the phone. Have attempted several times and always have to resort to emailing or going to the surgery in-person.

    Dear Patient, I am very sorry you experienced problems getting through to the surgery on the 8th January 24. After reviewing the staff levels and the call data for the 8th January I could see we had a significant number of calls into the surgery and the maximum number of receptionist working. Mondays are our busiest day of the week so we do try to ensure that we have sufficient staffing levels. That said I can see through certain parts of the day we had more calls not answered. I will of course investigate the reasons for this. I am currently looking into a call back system for or patients so they are not waiting on the phone for long periods of time.     I had the need to contact the surgery on a Monday morning. From the helpful receptionist to the locum GP with whom I had a face to face appointment that morning, the treatment I received was excellent. I have been a patient here for over 50 years, and whilst there have been many changes, it remains an excellent practice.

    Went through automated appointment line, over 2 weeks for a phone appointment, then went through reception which was about 2 days earlier. Explained that it’s a serious issue, but not an emergency to be going to the hospital, but still no change in date. Absolutely ridiculous, no wonder people misuse A&E when you have to wait over 2 weeks for an appointment, start booking in advance for just in case you fall sick.

    Obstructive receptionist. She seemed disinterested in the wellbeing of others and antagonistic in her behaviour. I was regrettably five minutes late for my appointment for reasons beyond my control and couldn’t be seen. The receptionist refused to help me re book my cervical screening appointment. Not sure where this leaves me…? I rarely go to the GP and just trying to arrange a simple screening visit as part of the national screening program has been such a challenge! Upsetting when I had taken time off work for this appointment

    Dear Patient, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with the level of service the surgery provided. Our appointments have a specified duration to ensure that the procedure is carried out safely and recorded appropriately. Currently we are experiencing high levels of requests for smear tests. Our receptionist may not have been able to book an appointment due to appointment availability. However they should have offered to add you to a waiting list for the next available appointment.
