    my experience was nothing more than 100% positive in every way from receptionist to Gp to medical secretary they make things happen fast and are very efficient at there jobs as well as being so polite and friendly towards you id just like to say thank you to all the staff at this practice for all your help

    The practice rarely answers the phones and when they do they belittle the need for an appointment and ask you to call back tomorrow. Let’s hope I survive to tomorrow, when I call about an odd heart palpitation and odd blood pressure. No questions about to what extent an issue, family history etc… I didn’t realise the receptionists are medically trained and can make these decisions with no information and on behalf of the doctors.

    Dear Patient Following your review on the NHS Choices website, I would like to investigate your concerns further. Please could you email your details (including name, address and date of birth) for the attention of the Practice Manager to dawley.general@nhs.net. This will allow me to look into the matters raised in your review, particularly the wait times for your call to be answered. All calls into the practice are recorded and I will be able to listen to the conversation you had with reception, particularly as you say you were asked to call back the following day. The reception team at Dawley Medical Practice don’t usually ask patients to call back. This is because since the introduction of the Urgent Care Hub at the end of last year, it is very rare for the practice not to have appointments on the same day. With respect to the phone system, patients no longer have to wait in a queue when selecting the option for appointments. If there are a number of calls ahead waiting callers are given the option of requesting a call-back while keeping their place in the queue. I have looked at the telephone logs for the last seven days and the report for 6th August 2024 show no calls missed by reception. Most calls were answered within 15 minutes. You express concerns about questions asked by reception staff. Staff are always acting on the instructions of the doctors at the practice, and have been directed to ask a series of questions so that calls can be signposted to the appropriate clinician. I will wait to hear from you, so that I can look into the matters you raise in your review.

    A practice that listens to patients and acts on feedback. Patients can still make an appointment by phone, or by popping in or by completing an online form. I chose face to face appointments. Over the last week I have seen two fantastic nurses for my health condition. They listened carefully to my concerns, offered choices, offered support and involved me in my treatment plan. My appointment today needed more help on medication being prescribed. The nurse made a quick call to the clinical pharmacist who joined us. It was great to be part of the discussion and be given advice on medication and side effects. I really felt supported by both members of staff. A caring and very friendly appointment. Well done and Thank you to the lovely nurses. A follow up appointment made to check my progress in a weeks time. Fantastic service. The changes Dawley are making really does have a positive impact on the patient experience.

    I was able to see a doctor and pharmacist within a week for skin condition. Pharmacist was excellent The reception staff are helpful kind. Appointments are always available and you are not in a long queue on telephone. I think this is best medical practice I have used. Thanks Dawley

    Twice in the last few weeks I have contacted the practice in the afternoon. I was given the same day appointments both times. I had two face to face appointments. Great reception staff and excellent care given to me by the clinicians. Highly recommend.

    I dropped a request from my optician for eyedrops to the gp 7 days ago. It was to be added to my repeat prescription list. I included a note explaining that I was finding it hard to buy over the counter and the first bottle was running out. Called after a week and after being on hold for 30 mins I was told the request had not yet been actioned. No indication of when it will be. This is urgent as I am due to have eye surgery soon. It took me 82 calls one morning to book an appointment. I thought London GPS were bad. This is much much worse

    I can honestly say this practice is the worst I have ever encountered. Had an MRI back in Nov (it’s now Jan) and was told to expect 2 weeks for results. Still not heard. No one answers phones, won’t answer queries at the door (can’t even enter the building without being buzzed in), they tell you to call. Last time I tried to get an appointment for my daughter I ended up going to urgent care in A&E as was on hold for over an hour (and still no answer), tried to go to the practice to see if they could make appointment, was told I had to call. Poor guy in front of me had been trying to call for 4 hours and after finally giving up and going to the practice was told “you’ll just have to keep trying”. Due to moving around lots, I have been to many doctors practices over the years, but this one is by far the worst I have ever encountered. Avoid at all costs if you can!
